4.0 out of 5 stars Assembly took all day, but finished product is great!
The grill comes in a box with literally zero pieces put together, so assembly took an entire afternoon and no small amount of trial and error. But now that it's assembled we love it. It heats quickly and evenly, with good controls on the burners.

2.0 out of 5 stars It gives me gas!
I've owned this grill for 2 years. Great the first year. Now that it's going into the 3rd year, it's falling appart. Side burner no longer works, electric spark starter no longer functional. Going to have to buy a new one! Next time, I'll pay a little more and hope to get what I pay for!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Grill!, May 17, 2010
This review is from: Char-Broil 48,000 BTU, 665-Square-Inch 4-Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
This gas grill is very nice for the price. Assembly was quite easy and I thought the manual was very easy to read. The Grill also looks good when assembled.
I have cooked a variety of things on it and this grill is very adjustable (temperature)from one side to the other, for instance ,
chicken breast on one side and steak on the other.
I am very satisfied with my purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really Cheap Grill, February 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Char-Broil 48,000 BTU, 665-Square-Inch 4-Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
Had this grill less than a month and due to design issues it almost burnt up. As it was the grill overheated so badly the knobs were melting! Discovered the hose running to the side burner ran through exposed metal and the hose broke. I am very lucky that it did not blow up! Would not recommend this grill at any price. Design is so poor it should be pulled from the market.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor durability, lousy parts support, May 26, 2011
This review is from: Char-Broil 48,000 BTU, 665-Square-Inch 4-Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
We've owned the "Designer Series" Char-Broil model for two years. It cooked fine, but the cooking surfaces and steel parts rusted quickly and badly. A trip to the local big box stores turned out to be a waste of time. They don't carry the parts we need. A visit to the company's web site for spare parts quickly showed it makes more sense to buy a new grill than to spend money on their high-priced steel parts. This is probably the company's strategy, but they've lost us for good. We have a smaller back-up Weber that has held up very well. Invest in a higher quality product...it will last longer, and perhaps you won't find yourself soon frustrated over the lack of availability of reasonably priced common replacement parts.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay Far Away, April 29, 2011
This review is from: Char-Broil 48,000 BTU, 665-Square-Inch 4-Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
This grill is bad news. This is my forth and last year suffering with this rusting mess. I agree with all of the previous negative reviews. It does look good new, I got it for a bargain when money was even tighter for me then now, it's got a lot of features for the money, it was a pain to assemble but not impossible, then all downhill. Porcelain on grates is paper thin ( they became rusting cast iron grates in second season), Rivets holding pan below burners gave way third season, warming tray is rusted junk,.......why go on? Save for that Weber! Wish the original Ducane was still around which was a really great grill.

1.0 out of 5 stars Char-broil makes BAD products!, April 23, 2011
This review is from: Char-Broil 48,000 BTU, 665-Square-Inch 4-Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
At about the 2 year mark of ownership, this piece of junk started rusting out from the inside. It sits on a concrete patio, and is covered when not in use. The outside looks great! But first the drip pan, then the side panels, then all the burners. It's basically a pile of rust once you lift the cover. And the customer service is the worst...I don't know how those people have jobs. Bottom line...I'm buying a Weber, and not looking back.

First grill arrived with nuts and bolts scattered throughout the box, thermometer was rattling, and some parts were unpackaged. Second grill arrived with a dent in the top of lid. Third grill arrived with a dent in the back of the lid. Three strikes you're outta here!

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT PURCHASE THIS...I'll explain, November 20, 2011
This review is from: Char-Broil 48,000 BTU, 665-Square-Inch 4-Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
My name is Brian. BUYER BEWARE>>>We purchased this Grill because we thought it being made in Georgia (in America) that the quality would be better. THINK AGAIN!! The customer service made me LIVID!! After just 2 months with very little use the Grill would not egnite. Called the company and they recommended a part. Black box I think it was some kind of ballast but it did not fix it and guess what. YOU PAY THE SHIPPING!! So then after calling again they suggested part #2. The switch. You guessed it I payed shipping again but it did correct the problem. We uncovered it this year and the trough legs were rusted off and it had 2 holes rusted through even though it was covered always with a very exspensive Char Broil grill custom cover. We called and they told me it was out of warranty. BUT WAIT THERES MORE!!! Ok I said send me the part ($39.95 + shipping). Well it is on back order till December. Turns out this trough is used in several models. This story ends good but not to the likes of Char Broil. I cc all documents to Home Depot on Bobby Jones in Augusta GA. They called me up and gave me a full refund minus the cost of the cover. We bought a Weber 310 for about the same price. Not as many features but a better warranty and it feels better. COOKS AWESOME!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware, September 5, 2011
This review is from: Char-Broil 48,000 BTU, 665-Square-Inch 4-Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
I bought this grill already assembled at Wal-Mart, so I cannot comment on how easy or difficult it is to put together. While initially pleased with the grill, now just one year after purchase, the grill is beginning to deteriorate. I have had two internal components fall off necessitating repair, the grill burner shields are rusting way too soon, and I find the grill is very cumbersome to clean. In short, I do not like this grill. I wish I would have shopped around a bit more before deciding on this one (which I bought due to the size and lower price). Quality is not built into this grill.
