I bought this grill to use at my business for a weekly grill party for the employees. One of our production workers assembled the grill in about 30 minutes - there are a lot of parts. The key to a quick assembly is following the instructions exactly. Do not assume anything - check each part carefully to make sure it is the right one and that you are installing it correctly.

The grill works fine, but has a few flaws. The grate is a fairly light wire with wide spacing, so you have to be careful flipping burgers or else they may slip through and end up at the bottom of the grill. Also the grate is flush with the top edge of the body so hot dogs will roll off onto the ground if you're not careful. But at about $90 it is a great buy! It does the job with a few minor inconveniences and there is a good side burner to boot!

Update
I paid less than $90 for this grill in May. It is now listed for more than $240. Even gas hasn't increased in price as fast. This grill is in no way worth more than about $100! Ours still works and does an acceptable job, but it needs frequent cleaning to minimize flareups and has the flaws mentioned in the original review. There are better deals elsewhere.

I don't normally write reviews but after seeing the one sided slanted review of this product I must retort. I helped my parents put this grill together after they ordered it and had no trouble at all. In response to the other review I must say "a bad carpenter always blames the tools rather than him/her self." Let's be honest, there is nothing fancy about this grill. My parents are older, and just wanted something simple to use to grill out every now and then. This grill has been perfect for them and they continue to bore my brother and I with their grilling success stories. If they were willing to take the time they would give it high marks so I am doing it for them.

Let's cut to the chase...pick a different grille, I sure wish I had. Assembly was a nightmare, with instructions that were confusing, erratic and in some cases just plain WRONG. Now that the grille is finally together, it works well enough, but after only two weeks the finish imperfections on the top lid are starting to RUST! That's right, folks, it's not even aluminum. What a dumb choice for a product made to be left outdoors. CharBroil should be ashamed for putting their name on this product. If I could return it, I would...but how do you return an assembled grille?

I am not very good at grilling and my old grill was a piece of junk. I checked several grills and read many recommendations before purchasing this grill. Mine came perfect, not 1 scratch or piece missing. The ignitor button actually worked when it was time to try it. I have never been able to grill chicken and have it turn out good, until I bought THIS grill. I love it, I made my mom proud with my grilled chicken. I am now able to grill good food and have it turn out perfect. I really love that you don't need the bricks to burn with them. Clean up is very easy too. My BBQ sauce didn't even stick. I can not say enough good things about this grill.

Why in this day and age do we sell items containing lead for cooking food? Wish I saw Char broils manual before I purchased this grill. Made in china. Poor quality stamped metals. Grill stored in protected site when not in use and already show signs of rust in less than 6 months when only used twice. Side burner flame is too far away from pan bottom to be effective--worst design I have seen yet on any grill I have owned. Last char broil product I will purchase!

I bought this grill a few years ago to replace an older charcoal grill. It gets the job done and cooks well. I like the fact that it's easy to move with the wheels. The propane tank fits neatly under so it's easy to reach but hidden from view. The burners do have a tendency to rust out after a few years and you will usually find you need to replace the ignition switch as well every few years. While it's not the best grill out there, it's a good grill for the money. I would suggest buying a cover for the grill and using it as much as possible. It will help keep the grill out of the elements and should improve longevity. My next grill will be a bigger and better unit, but I have been happy with this grill and I've gotten my money's worth. If you love grilling but don't want to spend $500-$1000 on a grill, this unit will fit your budget without sacrificing everything.

I have had this grill for almost exactly two years.
I've had to replace the left burner after 1.5 years. The inside does not drain fat well and it will catch fire.
And just recently 12" flames started to shoot out of the front of it from underneath. This melted my control knobs as well as all of the lettering on the front. I called their "customer service" and the problem was blamed on spiders...

There is a serious design flaw with this grill and it creates an extreme fire hazard with the propane tank being stored inches away from the fault.

I will never buy this brand again, and now need to purchase a new grill.

We bought this, and it came with all the wrong parts. Nothing fit together, some pieces were missing, and by the time we figured it out, we were half way through the installation process.

DO NOT BUY! The price isn't worth it. We'll never buy Char Broil again.
