5.0 out of 5 stars Does the trick and very affordable
This cover fits my grill like a glove and will even expand when I get my smoker attachment. If you own a Char Griller you have to have this to keep it out of the elements.

Well worth the money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not hold up well in cold
We purchased this grill cover with our grill last summer. It is attactive and fits our Charbroil smoker grill with smoker box very well. However, it faded considerably more than expected with the summer sun and it has not held up well in the cold weather. The material is very brittle and cracked and split when we took the cover off to grill on a 40 degree day. I'm now...

I'm now searching for another cover to fit our grill and will not purchase this one again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lousy cover for a great grill, March 24, 2007
This review is from: Char-Griller 5555 Cover, Fits 1224, 2121 (Lawn & Patio)
You'd think that as good as a Char-Griller is that the company would make a cover that's better that this. This is a total waste of money. You're better off getting a large tarp to cover the grill. At least a tarp won't tear through and fade as quickly as this cover. If I could give this a lower number, I would.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not durable, May 18, 2008

I agree with everyone else: this cover isn't durable at all. It lasted 6 months for me in relatively mild weather before it got a massive tear. I bought Mr. Bar-B-Q Platinum Prestige Large Grill Cover as a replacement, and while it doesn't fit as snugly, it works fine with a bungee cord securing it and is worlds more durable.

2.0 out of 5 stars Char Griller Cover 5555, February 19, 2008
By
This review is from: Char-Griller 5555 Cover, Fits 1224, 2121 (Lawn & Patio)
This cover is not one which will last several seasons, especially if you live in an area where it snows. I have purchased a new cover every year for the past three years, but for only $20 I can't see complaining. A canvas cover [if one were made for the Char-Griller Pro] would cost at least three times that [if not more], and would succumb within three years to the weather & UV light as well. I have not yet found a canvas cover for the Char Griller Pro, so this vinyl one seems to be the only option. My grill stays on my back patio, and is therefore exposed to the sun, rain, snow and wind. This cover will fade due to UV exposure, and it will tear especially in strong winds. For the price, it's better than using no cover at all! If you have the option of taking your grill into a covered porch, patio, or garage, I suspect this cover would last a bit longer.

1.0 out of 5 stars May hold up in warmer climates, but not in Canada, April 1, 2007
This review is from: Char-Griller 5555 Cover, Fits 1224, 2121 (Lawn & Patio)
It looked nice at first, but, as many other reviewers have mentioned, it doesn't take long for this cover to shown signs of wear after doing little other than just sitting on the BBQ for a few months. Mine is almost [...] now and is faded and torn along almost all of the seams. It was torn on one corner after less than a year (after the winter).

Perhaps it will be OK in warmer climates, but it doesn't seem to survive a southern Canadian winter. The tearing comes after the winter (under its own weight), while the fading occurs year-round.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money, June 10, 2008

Considering how much I love my Char Griller, you'd think they'd make a cover to match the quality of the grill. I used this for less than 3 months in the California sun, and then it promptly tore along one of the seams. What a waste of money.

I have this BBQ but this cover looks terrible. So I was looking on Amazon and found Mr. Bar-B-Q Platinum Prestige Large Grill Cover. I took a chance and bought it for my grill. It works really good for the char griller BBQ. It is really durable and doesn't cost much at all. I recommend it to everyone and hope this review helps you.

Buy this instead: Veranda Cart BBQ Cover, xxlarge, pebble.

I like many love the grill and I read the reviews before purchasing the cover, but I figured I would just be extra careful with the cover and I'd be fine. I was wrong, I used the grill once, put the cover on. Next time I came out and removed the cover there was about 6 inch rip in the front. I am not sure if this happened during the week I did not use it while it was outside or when I removed the cover. I do k now that there is no way I could have been more careful with this cover.

I have since bought the Veranda Cart BBQ Cover, xxlarge, pebble. It fits this grill perfectly and is a much better quality. It does cost twice as much, but it is definitely worth it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless after 7 months, January 15, 2007
By

This review is from: Char-Griller 5555 Cover, Fits 1224, 2121 (Lawn & Patio)
I received this cover as a gift for my Char-Griller grill. When new, it appeared to be well constructed and durable. It did fade in the sun, but I expected that and that didn't bother me.

After only ONE month of use, holes appeared where the cover rested on the handle for the lid. I applied duct tape to the inside of the cover for reinforcement.

After less than two months of use, a small tear appeared along one side. I fixed it with duct tape. At two months, a larger tear appeared, again fixed with duct tape.

As more tears continued to appear, I gave up and realized I was going to have to replace this cover sooner rather than later.

After only seven months, the cover has multiple rips and is basically worthless. I attribute this to the poor quality of the fabric - it seemed to tear very easily.

Avoid this cover! The Char-Griller grill I own is fantastic, but this cover is not very durable. It is comforting to see that I'm not the only one with this experience (see other Amazon reviews for this product).

1.0 out of 5 stars Won't last a season, February 17, 2008

This review is from: Char-Griller 5555 Cover, Fits 1224, 2121 (Lawn & Patio)
The vast majority of the other reviewers here are correct -- you're better off doing something else to cover the Char Griller. This cover is of extremely poor quality. The reality is that it is very prone to tearing and weather wear over just one season, and won't last.

Having read the prior reviews, I even sprayed the thing down with heavy-duty Scotchguard in an effort to help before I first used it. Alas, that didn't help. Get a higher-quality fitting cover.
