I had seen this fireplace for sale elsewhere but Amazon had the best price and free shipping so I decided to buy it, despite reading some negative experiences of previous buyers. My experience was mixed. I received the fireplace with only PART of the assembly bolts. Once side of the fireplace had what I would call a crimp in it where the paint had come off. Near as I can tell, it probably happened not in shipping but perhaps in a warehouse as the product moved from manufacturer to storage. Anyway, I decided to return it and get another one instead of waiting 2 weeks for the bolts from Charbroil like one other customer. Here's where the positive part of the experience came. I went to Amazon customer service page and clicked a link for someone to call me. My phone rang IMMEDIATELY! I spoke with a very pleasant woman who promptly ordered another fireplace at no cost and free shipping. I got an email with a link to the returns page and was able to request UPS to pick up the other item so I did not have to deal with carrying it to the UPS Store. I received my other fireplace in 2 days WITH all the necessary bolts. However, this fireplace had a similar crimp in one of the sides, but otherwise it is fine. Since we like the design of the fireplace, we are planning on hammering out the crimp and re-painting that part. So in summary, Charbroil has some manufacturing issues with this unit, but Amazon rocks for customer service.

A friend of ours lent us their outdoor fireplace and we liked it so much that we tried to find it online. After a little searching, we found it on Amazon. We ordered it immediately, and the delivery came in about a week. It was fairly easy to assemble, and was very durable. I like it better than others, because all sides have removable screens, so everyone can play with the fire. The "only" critisism I have for it is that the fire-grate is fairly low, so it's difficult to put paper under it to light. Also, it's best suited for short logs, as there is a bar that crosses either end that limits the size that can sit on the grate itself. Otherwise, it's a well designed, and well thoughtout product.

I just recieved my Trentino fireplace. I recieved it in a pretty beat up cardboard box with lots of extra tape on it. This makes me believe it was opened before, or even returned before. When I opened it up screws and nuts fell from the box. Although they were all in there, they were just loose in the box. I thought, good everything will be alright. Well, the large base has a 2-3" dent in it that caused the paint to chip away. I put it together to see what it looked like and decided it wasn't worth the hassel of returning it and waiting for another one. The fireplace functions well. Like another review said, the removable screens don't firmly attach to the fireplace. It looks nice sitting far out in our yard with some adirondack chairs around it so I'm happy with it. I am just not pleased with Charbroil's flimsy packaging and the fact that Amazon would send such a beat up box with loose parts in it. My first bad experience with Amazon.

You have got to get this! We had had a similar item like this and used it almost everyday for the past 6 years when it started to show wear and tear. We looked around and nothing we saw could compare to this style and thats when my search started to find a close replacement. This is about as close as we could get. The design is fantastic! You have access through screens on all sides and it easily adjusts from a small fire to a roaring one. Also it is a snap to clean. We leave ours out all year, even through our harsh winters but we now cover it only to preserve it longer. If this one lasts as long as our old one we will be more than happy. Great buy, quality product, and free shipping. You can't go wrong.
This is not for a deck, or small space as it throws off a lot of heat and is heavy.

What a pleasure to put together!! It took me 1hr. to assemble.
All the parts were there, and I diden't need assistance. Just leaned it against the wrought iron rail of the patio and presto!! I was enjoing a fire in no time!!

After reading other reviews I was concered that it might come in with damage. I guess the company improved the packing. There was no problem. I have used it several times and it is great on my patio.

Arrived with a couple dents in it -- poorly packaged. Didn't bother returning it. It took about 30 minutes to put together with a wrench, ratchet and screw driver. It looks nice otherwise and seems well designed. It's neither sturdy nor flimsy, somewhere in-between. The base stayed cool when I had a fire in it which I appreciate. One thing that's not obvious from the photos is the broiler has a lot of white flecks in the finish (on purpose). I did not notice this when I ordered it.

I love it. It's the 2nd one I own, Maine has such a short summer so we use this to prolong the "outdoor" feeling. My other one is 5yrs old and has survived being buried in up to 7ft of smow.

Nice product. Arrived with some shipping damage which was replaced by CharBroil with little hastle and at no cost (They stood behind their product). Only negative is that the screening is a little light. This is my second unit (first one damaged by storm) and I had to replace the screens after about 3 seasons. Granted, I tend to build a "strong" fire so that may be part of the "burn-thru" problem. At any rate...it's a good buy.
