This review is from: Characters in Search of an Author (Paperback)
Reading Characters in Search of an Author by Billie A. Williams is full of tips that will help writers wishing to create characters that will captivate an audience.
Williams shows how to create believable, consistent and reliable characters throughout her book. Each chapter provides different methods on how to do this. Activities such as interviewing your character, creating detailed profile and statistics sheets will help the writer breathe life into their characters while keeping track of all of the details.
Williams also provides solutions to problems such as dialogue writing, toning down a character that is too happy or adding depth to one that is lacking personality in easy to read charts.
Assisting the writer further, Williams provides exercises at the end of each chapter to help anchor what was just read.
The book is interesting and fun to read, assisting those starting to create a character or those looking to add depth to characters already created.

This book has all the character traits that anyone could want to explore for their books. You could get some really twisted people or some really good people depending on what you want.
The exercises work really well for character developement practice and are worth trying even if you aren't sure you want to write a book. They will expand your imagination if nothing else.
