I don't have time to really do this justice, but this is an amazing album. It's hard driving timba, brilliantly performed and recorded, with the unique twist that many of the piano and basslines have some of their roots in classical music. The combination of the classical european influences with the afro-cuban rhythms is quite amazing. The music is immediately danceable and commercial, but bears up extremely well under repeated listenings because of the complex harmonic and rhythmic underpinnings.
