4.0 out of 5 stars Nice grill
I've had this grill for about 3 months and am very happy with it.

For a two-burner grill it has plenty of cooking area, more than enough to cook for a bbq with 10-15 people.

Porcelain grill is easy to clean up.

I cook on it about 2-3 tims a week.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great grill, great price, August 23, 2004

I was replacing a banged up beaten up, unloved grill. This grill is fantastic! It is quite a hefty grill considering its not one of those fancy stainless grills. I'd estimate it at over 80lbs though the fedex guy who delivered it said it was 150 (I dont think so, I'm a female and I could push the box along my patio with relative ease). Upon removing this grill from the box (thats a LOT of pieces!) and finding the instructions I found this grill not too terribly difficult to assemble. The instructions could have been a LOT better, but they're followable (especially after dismantling the grill a few times after figuring out I put some pieces on upside down). I was a little concerned with some of the plastic screws this grill uses to hold it together. Time will tell if these can hold up. I had a few remaining nuts and bolts but after a call to charbroil's customer service, I was assured these were just extra pieces in case something were to mess up. I like that because I am not very handy.

I have 1 complaint about my experience with this grill. It came rather banged up, a few of the pieces were dented and bent. Nothing a good sharp whack with a hammer couldnt fix, but some might be touchy.

This complaint was well made up by Amazon's customer service experience I had regarding my concern getting this grill to me in time for a barbeque. Amazon really went over and above.

All in all, this is a LARGE grill considering what I was upgrading from. There is a LOT of cooking surface, a LOT of warming surface. It is a beautiful grill that deserves care. So please do yourself a favor and buy a cover for this grill so it does not rust or get damaged.

Oh for those older grillers, new grills DO NOT require lava rocks or briquettes as I was told by the Char Broil representative on the phone. So do not be shocked by this "omission". If you use lava rocks, it will void your grill's warranty.

I was ready to pay up to $300 for a grill and decided on this one. For the money you get a grill that is easy to assemble (less than an hour - no tools), a side burner, good quality, double top rack and even fast cooking. I was looking for the latest "stainless steel" grill, but they are much more money.
The price is cheap the quality is not! I am very happy with this grill. At the time I purchased the grill, Amazon did have the cheapest price even including the shipping.

Hubster and I put this grill together yesterday. It only took about an hour and no tools are required. It is not the most solid thing in the world which is why I gave it 4 stars.

We had our first bbq today and after a few tries to ignite the grill, everything worked out fine. The food cooked evenly and plenty of space to prep food.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great affordable grill, November 23, 2004
This review is from: Charbroil Quickset Traditional 463732004 Evenflame 35,000 BTU Grill with Sideburner (Lawn & Patio)
I have had this grill for over a year now and it still works as good as new. In the past, other grills have not lasted this well for me. The grill itself is still easy to clean, and the ceramic burner heats evenly. Best of all, I still do not have problems using the starter, which is usually the first thing to go on a grill.
The side burner also still works well. This unit has withstood a Phoenix summer without fading. Grill is fairly easy to clean, exterior of unit is real easy to clean which is not typical for outdoor grills.

4.0 out of 5 stars good grill, September 6, 2004

I have had an older older of this grill for about 4 years now and I can tell you this about it, this thing is incredibly sturdy. It has survived 2 moves across the world (we're in the military), constant use. I would have loved to have the spice rack that they now offer, but it had decent ebough counter space to hold most of my BBQ needs. Sadly now I'm going to have to replace it. The racks are rusting A LOT is startign to fall apart. One problem I had was the automatic starter connection on teh burner burned off after the first year. Other than that it has definately fulfilled our needs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good Luck on a Charbroil, July 4, 2010

i had a charbroil Quickset grill and when the hinges mount on the top and bottom casting it got all distorted and cracked. i checked my manual and it said they were warrantied for a life time. so i emailed charbroil and told them, i got back a DENIED and the reason being, IT WAS CAUSED BY HEAT now i ask you what is there in a grill besides HEAT it was just their excuse not to warranty it. i will never buy another charbroil and when im in a store and see people looking at one i stop and tell them my story and so far that has been 13 people and they all walked away. I sent that grill to the boneyard and bought a grill master now if u want a grill this is it. its all porcelan and cleans real nice 10 times the grill of a charbroil. so if u are thinking of gettin a grill, think twice about a charbroil unless u want to be buying another new one in the next few yrs.

Seems like a good grill for the price. The instructions were somewhat murky at one point in the construction. No problems otherwise at this point in time.
