5.0 out of 5 stars Great for us
We use these when camping. Haven't experienced any of the leaks or rubbing off of ink from bottles that others have reported. The screw tops are just what we were looking for.

1.0 out of 5 stars Be Warned. Find a better quality product.
I purchased these squeeze bottles specifically because it had the white mayo bottle which I intended to use for salad dressing. The threads on the bottle that secures the cap in place is not molded properly and the cap will not tighten and the dressing oozes out of the side. A worthless piece of junk in my opinion. Its sad to purchase a product and have to throw it...

The threads on the bottle that secures the cap in place is not molded properly and the cap will not tighten and the dressing oozes out of the side. A worthless piece of junk in my opinion. Its sad to purchase a product and have to throw it away because is can not even perform its basic function.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth the Trouble: The Ink Rubs Off When Wet; The Thick Plastic Makes the Bottles Hard to Squeeze, January 9, 2010

I bought this set as a Christmas gift for my Mom, who doesn't have the hand strength that she used to. She had been using a translucent squeeze bottle for her salad dressings, so I thought that this retro-looking set would be just as useful for her.

I was wrong.

The first thing I noticed when I tried these out is that the plastic is too thick to squeeze easily for persons with normal hand strength, let alone those with less strength.

The second problem I found is that the ink can smudge off: Since it seemed less wasteful to use up the mayo in the bottle instead of dumping it back into the jar, we've been using the mayo bottle for the past couple of weeks. When I most recently used the bottle, my hands were still slightly wet from washing them. After I used the bottle, I noticed that the printed ink had smudged off onto my fingers, and I had transferred some smudges to the back side of the bottle (see my first two photos). To test this further, I applied some non-stick spray (which I've used to remove permanent marker ink on plastic before) to the bottle and wiped. The printed ink came easily off. (see my third uploaded photo).

For an alternative, I recommend just going with translucent squeeze bottles (look for a Recycling Symbol triangle with a number "4" on the bottom). Those bottles are so much easier to use. And, when cleaning, since they're semi-clear, it's easy to see the food bits that you've missed.

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointing quality, September 29, 2007

My condiments go back and forth to the vacation cabin in an ice chest. I wanted something smaller and more fun than my re-used branded bottles with the thrashed labels and expired date stamps. When the Charcoal Companion Classic Diner Condiment Bottle Set arrived, I was immediately disappointed in the thin plastic and the weak imprints. Most unacceptable was the lack of airtight seals. These bottles will make a big mess unless you keep them upright, and the products inside will go stale unless you refill often.

Yes, the labels come off and the cap leaks sometimes. Not so great. But I don't care about the labels and the swivel-shut tops are nice. Works for what I need it for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Retro - Fun, June 11, 2007

These are great. I keep them in a small bucket in the fridge, so they are ready to go the moment the grillin's done. One note: they are not idiot proof, apparently. The tops twist and a little plastic piece moves in and out of place in the tip in order to prevent little condiment bullets from forming. I thought they needed to be ice picked opened - oops! (The little gems are working in spite of me.)
