I ordered these knives because I liked the shape, as well as the rosewood. They looked sleek, stylish, and comfortable to hold. I couldn't even tell you, because when I opened the box I nearly went into shock - they are HUGE!! I saw the dimensions, and thought, no way...that has to be the package. Well, it was,.. but the knives were the whole length of the box - 11inches +! They are as large as the chef's knife I use for prep work. I have small hands, but even my 6 foot tall husband thought they were outrageous. If you want to kill, prep, and eat with the same knife, ...as Crocodile Dundee said, "THAT's a knife!"
I'm planning to send them back.

These steak knives are absolutely beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. The problem is that on the handle, the metal band sticks out from the wood slightly and is extremely sharp. I would be afraid people would cut themselves when using them. We all expect the blades of steak knives to be sharp, but not the handles!

I also bought these knives at Marshall's, and these knives are awesome. Not like the smaller, lightweight knives that come in most knife sets, these are much heavier and sharper, and much classier when you serve up a meal, especially when you entertain. I keep them handy on a nice knife rack, and have recieved a lot of compliments on them. I treat the handles with cooking grade wood oil to preserve, and never wash in the dishwasher, or soak in a sink full of water when cleaning them. If you can find them at Marshall's, they were selling for 9.99 per set of four. I keep checking back to see if they get more in, as they make very nice gifts, especially if you can find them for 9.99/set.

I bought these knives at Marshall's and they are great. They have a nice weight to them and are well balanced in your hand. They cut tough steak with one swipe - I personally am buying 2 more sets so clearly I highly recommend!
