This review is from: Chardonnay: A Complete Guide to the Grape and the Wines it Produces (Mitchell Beazley Wine Made Easy) (Hardcover)
This book is part of the Mitchell Beazley series of little books. I know it's a pretty cheap book but I would still suggest skipping it. It doesn't really tell you about Chardonnay as much as it describes all known growing regions. That doesn't really give me useful information to really learn about the grape itself. There's little information on aromas and body of this particular variety.
It breaks down the growing regions from all over the world and then gives the major producers to look for. It would be fine if it were current but this book was printed in 2003 and many of the producers have been bought out or just plain out of business. The pictures are OK. The book doesn't provide any more useful information than any other wine book that includes all grape varietals. I only paid a penny but I wasted $3.99 on the shipping. If you want to learn about wine go with The Complete Idiot's Guide to Wine Basics, 2nd Edition and you can get useful information on all grape varietals. |
