I truly don't have a real comparison in smoke detectors, because they are a low drain application, but the tennas consistently outperform the alkalines in my metal detector( a very high drain application ) on a regular basis. I've had the system for over two years and am still VERY happy with the performance of both charger and batteries............paid for themselves MANY times over !
