I am frequently on the road for my job and use my fm transmitter often. Reception is clear and the sound quality is good. Generally, works well in urban and rural areas. I live in the Phoenix area and I've never experienced problems. However, I had difficulty finding a frequency with clear reception in the LA area.

I bought this for my sister and her new iPod Mini. It plugs in just fine to her cigarette lighter and plays the music on a slew of different radio stations without sounding 'distant', 'hollow', 'scratchy', or anything else...it sounded like I was playing a CD. EXCELLENT!

I bought a product similar to this by Griffin that was on sale. It broke, so I bought this one (the other had gone up in price). It connects to the ipod or mp3 fine and plays through the radio, but I often have static. I've tried many stations and they just don't come through clear. There's a little whine behind them.

I bought this to keep me entertained and powered up while moving cross-country, and while it did a decent job, there are definitely some major issues to consider when purchasing one that I (unfortunately) overlooked. First, the cord is crazy short. If you want to be on the phone while it's charging, you'll need a hands free, or really good speaker phone volume, because it isn't long enough to be plugged in while chatting. Second, I my shifter is on my center console (I have a Corolla), with the cig lighter just to the left. However, this unit is quite bulky, and I had to disconnect it completely to put my car in park because it just wouldn't fit. Not a huge deal, but it was certainly a pain and got old after a day on the road! Personally, I would go for a different package, and am pretty sure I'll be returning this one.

I have this transmitor, it works just fine, fits perfectly for my Ipod nano 4th gen. so you can purchase it. what I like best about this item is that it charges mu Ipod while is plugged so I can forget about having to charge it to use it.

Also, you can seek any frecuence that fits best, if one is not goog anymore, you swithc to the next one and voila. For the price you pay, its quite OK.

After reading reviews on several types of charger/transmitters thought I'd give this one a try. For the price if nothing else it will charge my ipod in the car. Sound quality not great- a lot of static/popping- radio generally sounds better. From other reviews that I read sound is usually better in more rural areas(less interference?)Quality of item in general not great- plastic feels light weight, like it would be easy to break but for the price item seems okay.

I guess you get what you pay for with this product. It worked fine for a few months (3-4) until I plugged my iPod in one day and the sound was only coming out of the speakers one side of my car. I had to fiddle with the wire that plugs into my iPod and if I held it in just the right place, sound would come out of both sides.

Soon, it would not play out of either.

I can't remember ever twisting the wire or doing anything out of the norm, so I would've expected mine not to break and/or last longer than a few months... I was pretty disappointed.

I love this ipod transmitter. I bought it right before christmas and I have had no problems with it. I keep mine set on fm 87.9 and I never have any static or have to find a different frequency. For christmas I drove from VA to CA and never once and to find a different frequency. It was definitely worth the $10 I paid for it.

This is a good idea, but for some reason, even if I use the station it recommends, it still is staticy and doesnt sound as clear as I would like it to. But then again, its a cheap way to have my tunes in my car without buying a real MP3 stareo.

I received this item the other day and was very surprised about how well it works. I have no problem finding a station. My ipod fits very nicely into. I also love the fact that it charges my ipod while playing my music. If there is a down fall it maybe that depending on where your cigarette lighter is the device could get in the way of your gear or your ac controls. Luckily for me i had a second one so I didn't have to use the one near my gear shift. None the less I am happy with this product and glad I decided to purchase it.
