4.0 out of 5 stars Does everything right. But material a bit subpar and may not fit all cars
I love this product overall. But can only give 4 stars because of some minor issues.

PROS:
- Instant FM transmission upon turning ON
- Very strong signal that sounds great but the highs (treble sounds) are bit dampened
- full function remote that lets you navigate the menus, fast-forward, rewind, skip, shuffle songs, etc.
- lets you...

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap-o
I was worried when the transmitter became loose, started falling, and dropping my ipod. Then it got worse. Basically this thing is cheaply constructed and fell apart. The connections don't work anymore. I've only had this thing 3 monthes and have only really used it on the two short road trips I've been on. POOR.

- lets you charge cell phone or other device via the USB port
- Holds your iPod in place nicely
- Has ability to connect to audio sources other than iPod - although without remote functionality

CONS:
- May not fit outlets that are recessed - doesn't fit my wife's car - an extension arm would have taken care of it
- The plug is held together with a tiny screw and nut that can come lose easily. However, if you leave it plugged in all the time, you should be OK. You can remove your iPod from the unit while it's plugged in.
- The remote died after just a few weeks of use. I'm assuming the remote came with a bad battery. I will post my experiences (if notable) after replacing the battery.

BOTTOMLINE:
I have used a few other FM transmitters and this BY FAR has the best performance and features. The PROs greatly outweigh the CONs. I would say if it fits your car and you leave it plugged in all the time or are careful with the screw assembly, this is a must buy. Enjoy and keep your eyes on the road while driving.

I was looking for a space saving way to store, charge, and use my iPod while driving and this product was the answer. If you want to see what songs are playing without buying an aftermarket interface and have your iPod securely attached to a charger, this works great. I have a aux jack next to the power supply so I haven't used the FM transmitter, but the sound quality is great using the jack. The only minus is the remote... the buttons should have raised individual bumps so you can identify them without looking down. Overall, a good product.

I have had the 3 in 1 Car Kit for my iPod for about a month now. It is far better in terms of audio quality and usability compared to a more expensive unit I replaced it with. It stays firmly in place in my 12v outlet in my car and always transmits a clear signal to my radio. I am very satisfied with the product, and would recommmend it - especially given the affordable price.

5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality and Easy to Use, January 17, 2008
This review is from: 6 in 1 Car Kit for Ipod (Black) Car Charger / Fm Transmitter / Holder Full Range Frequency / USB port / Remote Control for iPod, Touch 1G/2G (Electronics)
I am very happy I bought this product. I was very skeptical about purchasing one of the iPod FM Transmitters but this slick piece of hardware is well worth it. It was very easy to setup and get working. I don't have any issues driving to and from work (60 minutes 1 way) with static from nearby station frequencies. The holder for the iPod and the connector into the jack are sturdy and won't come free easily which is nice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great but,..., March 27, 2008
This review is from: 6 in 1 Car Kit for Ipod (Black) Car Charger / Fm Transmitter / Holder Full Range Frequency / USB port / Remote Control for iPod, Touch 1G/2G (Electronics)
Works great for standard use. Two things are definitely annoying. One: The unit does not start up automatically on power from ignition. Granted, some cars have cigarette lighters that are powered on all the time, so definitely keep the on/off switch, but the fact that the Ipod comes on with the ignition through the unit is dumb and very counter intuitive to their logic on not having the radio broadcasting begin at the same time. It will annoy you. Two: The broadcast is weaker 'in volume' than the other stations on the dial. So, if you are listening to the radio and turn on the device, the radio will need the volume increased. Less annoying and probably the farking FCC's fault, but still, hard not to notice. On the same lines, the radio is now at full blast while listening to my favorite songs on my Ipod, because I have to turn it up to hear it. The combo of these two annoying problems makes it far worse. I shut off the car, leave come back, start the car, LOUD static, because the broadcasting isn't enabled on ignition. DUMB. Without these two problems, the device is top notch. Fix both of these issues and make a new improved version for 2009, I'll buy it and chuck this one. Still the best I could find available now.

I love my new 6 in 1 IPod FM Transmitter.

First of all, there are no more arguments about who is going to plug in what (we are a family with lots of technology toys). I can play my iPod and charge my husband's blackberry. If he wants quiet in the car, I can plug in some lightweight headphones.

Secondly, the Satechi 6 in 1 is so simple to set up. My car's radio is odd in that you can't manually set to a specific station, and can only "browse" the frequencies. I thought that might be an impediment to setting up the transmitter, but it was not. All I needed to do was browse to a station that was static, then set the transmitter to that frequency. Plug in your iPod and turn both on. Voila!

Although a remote control is available for those back-seat drivers who want to switch the iPod channel, or turn the transmitter on or off, you can do that easily with a quick touch, and with very little shift of focus from your driving.

I found the sound quality to be as good, if not better, than playing actual CDs. The device is fairly small and extremely light. It takes about 3 seconds to unplug, fold up and place in my pocket book (since I never leave iPods, GPS, or other devices in my car tempting a thief to break my car windows).

I highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Quality, Impressive Customer Service, December 6, 2007

This review is from: 6 in 1 Car Kit for Ipod (Black) Car Charger / Fm Transmitter / Holder Full Range Frequency / USB port / Remote Control for iPod, Touch 1G/2G (Electronics)
The Satechi player was incredibly easy to use. I just plugged it into my car's lighter, turned it on, set my car radio to the radio frequency set on the Satechi Player, and voila, I was listening to music on my ipod through my car's radio. The sound quality was phenomenal, and was in fact better than the quality of radio stations and seemed even slightly better than my CD player's sound quality.

More impressive than this was the fact that shortly after I received the package, Satechi sent me a personalized email making sure that I received the package, and asking me about my satisfaction with the product. Their customer service truly ranks with the best I've ever dealt with. The price is also incredibly reasonable given the quality of the device. The remote control worked great as well, though I probably will have little use for it when I'm driving. It seems like it was intended to be used mostly by passengers or when you're standing outside of your car listening to your ipod. Though I'm definitely not complaining about it, since it's a very neat addition to the player. There are still other functions I haven't yet tried out (like plugging a PDA/cell phone to it, among others), and I feel that this device still has some more great features to show off.

A definite buy for anyone looking for an iPod adapter for their car.
