I ordered the Car Charger since the one that came with my Nuvi a couple of years ago became worn out and broke. The new car charger I ordered doesn't allow you to use the gps while it's plugged into the lighter whereas my original did! I plugged it in my car for an hour to charge but the battery was still low. Now I have to hunt for another car charger that will allow me to use the gps while plugged in and charging.

The charger that came with my Nuvi didn't work well. I had to fiddle with it in the outlet, it emitted an annoying high pitched squeak, and I hated the long spaghetti string cord. This was a fine upgrade. The adapter fit snugly in the outlet and worked first time, every time. The coiled cord was sturdy and much neater. The drawback is the connector pin that plugs into the GPS itself. It is straight, rather than at a 90 degree angle like the original. From the beginning I could tell that this would be problematic and I was right. The connector broke the other day leaving me on the road with no GPS (the battery died within a short time, probably because I didn't charge/spend it regularly). It lasted a little over a year and I'm ordering another since I can't stand the long straight cords that Garmin offers. But why they don't put a 90 degree pin on it, I can't figure out.

I like this adapter better than the one that came with the GPS because it has a coiled wire. Easier to store!

Well the product made it for about two months and then the usb end split open after minimal use. I would not recommend to anybody.

I tried 2 of these. The vendor was excellent in addressing the issues, sending a replacement, and taking them back, no questions. Kudos to ChargerCity! At the end of the day, it did not work with my Nuvi 205w. The device just keeps rebooting when it is plugged in. It does charge, so if you do not need to use the GPS while charging, I guess it works . . .

this thing is really cheaply made and only worked for a day or so. It is nowhere near the quality of the original that came with my Garmin GPS..A total waste of money

Received my charger promptly. Charger does work with my GPS but only occasionally. I have to jiggle the charger inside the car receptacle to get the light to come on so it works. While driving however, I have noted the unit is completely 'dead' upon arriving at my destination...so obviously this charger isn't working 100% (or even 50%) of the time. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

This was my first experience with ChargerCity and it could not have been better. The product replaces the overly long dangling cord that came with the original Garmin 205W and makes a much neater appearance. Their speed in shipping was very fast. I can't say enough good things about dealing with this firm and the product. Now I can use the GPS and the radar detector at the same time and not have it look like a spaghetti wire mess--just two neat coils.

I'm usually skeptical about purchasing non-OEM accessories when it comes to electronics, but this charger by Chargercity is an exception. I've used it several times over the last few months with no problems or issues. It's made heavier than the original and fits a little tighter in the GPS unit, as well as, the cigarette lighter in my car. It doesn't have the 90-degree bend in the end that goes into the unit like the original, but I didn't find that to be a problem. It coils up nicely for easy storage too.

This replacement cord works great. The coiled cord keeps from tangling in everything like the original straight one did, and the availability of a longer cord is there.
