It has been great for my (then) 6 month old & it is still great, though I think she soon won't need it. It's really good for holding them in a reclined position, like a car seat does, which is safer on their little necks, I think. & it seems comfy, she sleeps in it. My daughter is 10 months old now & we still use it but she is small at just over 15 pounds. I think we can go with out it soon. However, we couldn't have put her in the carrier with out it before. I'm glad we bought it and we've gotten quite a bit of use out of it. It your baby is big or physically advanced, it may be more economical to just wait to put the baby in the carrier b/c I think most babies would grow out of very quickly.
