From Library Journal
After retiring from a career as a business press journalist, Long earned a degree in theology from King's College, London, at age 62. Throughout her research into the female aspects of deity, from the Hebrew, Greek, and Egyptian sources through the Ancient Near East, to Wisdom and various names for Mary in Christian tradition, Long is careful to discuss the contemporary relevance of her ancient materials so that women are enlightened intellectually and spiritually as well as in their struggles for justice. For Long, Wisdom was "at the beginning, companion and delight of God, perhaps God herself or God's spirit" who "relates to all who wish to be with her on her own terms. Recommended for large public libraries and those with New Age and feminist collections.
