5.0 out of 5 stars the best CD that never was, January 5, 2008
This review is from: Chariot Rising (Audio CD)
Dantalian's Chariot never made an album - including this one.

That said this is the best album I have ever heard that never existed. "Madman" and "sun came shing ..." were a great single. Zoot Money & Andy Sumers proved here they were talented beyond the period, but then the Zoot Money Big Roll Band had shown that. That both subsequently joined with Eric Burdon inthe Animals shows the regard they were held in.

If all you know of Andy Sumers is as a third of the Police listen to this and see how good he was pre Sting.

If you can find this CD buy it - you will not be sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dantalian's Chariot - 'Chariot Rising' (Wooden Hill), March 25, 2009
This review is from: Chariot Rising (Audio CD)
Originally released in 1967, as this was the lesser known British psychedelic band's only album. Tunes here I liked best were "Madman Running Through The World" {first heard this cut on the 'Nuggets II' 4-CD box set), "World War Three", the uplifting "Fourpenny Bus Ride" and the tripping "Soma" (nice sitar work). Personnel: Tony Colton-vocals, (future Police member) Andy Summers-guitar & sitar, Pat Donaldson-bass & vocals and Zoot Money-organ, piano & vocals. Should appeal to fans of the Animals, Them and possibly the Troggs and maybe the Hollies.
