From Library Journal
Thomajan, whose articles have appeared in such publications as the Village Voice and Spy , states that "this book was written not to settle arguments but to start them." The categories he employs are creative: Best Stylized Dialogue, Best Musical Moment in a Nonmusical Movie, and so forth. His excellent prose reveals and revels in a friendly synthesis between print and film. He is a true film buff whose enthusiasm is contagious, which is all that can be asked of this sort of book. A few of the pieces seem to have been penned more for humor than anything else. This is the kind of book film buffs will gobble, particularly those who have gone pale from recent cinema's shameless insipidity. Recommended for large public libraries.
