From Library Journal
In her sequel to The Law in Charity (Doubleday, 1989), Yarbo continues the saga of town sheriff Jason Russell, veteran of police forces in England and Australia. Russell must contend with a Spanish land-grant dispute and a serial killer while facing the criminal growing pains of Charity, Colorado. Although any of the subplots could have served as a single catalyst to engage her intriguing cast of characters, the author clutters the narrative by trying for a mixture of the Western, horror, and mystery genres, doing justice to none. The prolific Yarbro has proven herself a good story teller, most recently with Darker Jewels ( LJ 5/15/93). But here she gives the reader too little story. Not essential.
