Refreshing Change of Pace,
By Forrest Gott (North Dakota, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Charlemagne's Paladins: Campaign Sourcebook (AD&D 2nd Ed. Fantasy Roleplaying, Book+Map, HR2/9323) (Paperback)
Traditionally an AD&D campaign is steeped in high levels of magic, and although this can make for a fun game, it can also detract from the game. By basically removing magic from the hands of the characters and placing them in a historical setting, the players are forced to rely much more heavily on good role-playing to get around challenges. This can definitely be a refreshing change of pace for any DM out there plagued by a horde of min/max gamers.
