Not Bad,

I thought this might be just another little fluff piece, a paperback churned out between their engagement in February and their wedding in July of 1981. But I was pleasantly surprised--the author threw in some new information that I had never heard of before (like the fact that Charles was attacked by a crazed fellow officer during one of his naval postings, only to be saved by his trusty bodyguard). Of course, much more was known about him than about Diana in those days, so the book is weighted more heavily in his direction. But it took you back to the innocence and high hopes that all of us had for this lovely couple back then, and lent poignancy to how their story finally turned out.
