The record of a half-century of revival still leaves its imprint on this nation and the Church!

Lawyer, college professor, pastor and evangelist Charles Grandison Finney's ministry during the 1800's saw over one million people converted to Christ! Everywhere he went, spiritual life burst into flame and touched whole communities for the Gospel.

Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Charles Finney, a brilliant lawyer, came face to face with God one day in a forest on the outskirt of Adams, New York. The amazing consequences of that first encounter on his knees, was so remarkable that it denied description. For more than fifty years, tens of thousands of sinners gave their lives to the Lord, moved by the power and the junction where upon Charles Finney preached the Word of God. The history of his life is a story of half a century of living, perhaps surpassed only by the apostle Paul. Finney got to experience the abundant life to such fullness, that wherever he went, life seemed to flow from him, and to reach other people as the flames of a fire whipped by the wind. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charles the true Christian, March 17, 2004
By

Charles Finney never denied justification by faith. He simply said that saving faith would always produce good works, but you are justified by faith alone. He also never denied the doctrine of election, and instead of being a man-centered gospel Finney insisted that the only appropriate motivation for a spirit filled life is devotion to God, regardless of any reward for yourself. If you believe that Christians are not required to live holy lives, but can go on sinning indefinitely without regard to their savior and Lord, then don't read this book. It will challenge you and push you toward a more Godly life. Please read this book, Charles Finney has a had tremendously wonderful affect on my life....
