I have been blessed by having the chance to learn a diversity of skills, fulfill long hoped for dreams, and been privileged to have nature teach me the ways of the wild. I have been a special education teacher, horticulture editor to Storey Publishing, contributing editor to Fine Gardening, authored or coauthored books for Appalachian Mountain Club Books, Storey Publishing, and Falcon Books (Globe Pequot).
I love writing non-fiction. Telling true stories and experiences using knowledge gathered first hand from nature and gleaned through attending universities is more amazing and rewarding than any fictional land could be. There is no need to reinvent the world when its majesty and reality are so much more satisfying.
Over the last few years I have suffered some setbacks. Major back injuries, terminal cancer, and a few other maladies and surgeries have brought my writing the books I so love to write pretty much to a standstill. But I think I have the strength and endurance left to bring my readers one or two more books. I'll let you know more when I do.
In the meantime, thank you for your interest, and reading what I've written. It has been wonderful to share things with you.
