The Charleston Renaissance [Hardcover]

Martha R. Severens (Author)

Available from these sellers.

Book Description

December 1, 1998
This lavishly illustrated, large-format volume tells the story of the painters, printmakers and photographers who spearheaded a dynamic cultural renewal in the South's most "ancient, beautiful city"--Charleston, South Carolina-- during the early half of the twentieth century. Inspired by the city's rich history, an amazing group of native and national artists' collective image-making led to Charleston's transformation from a faded Southern capital to a premier tourist destination.
