Wildlife artist Charley Harper s whimsical paintings portraying all kinds of creatures have delighted art and animal lovers for more than six decades. Harper (1922 2007), who came by his love of nature as a child in rural West Virginia, developed his unique style while studying at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the Art Students League of New York. This calendar presents thirty-two full-color reproductions of Harper s paintings, lithographs, and serigraphs, from Wings of the World to Devotion in the Ocean. Also included: a brief essay about the artist, double-page 2010 and 2011 yearly grids, fifty-four weekly grids, twelve full-page monthly grids, lists of international holidays and calling codes / time differences, pages for notes, and a personal information page.

As the product description states, this lovely item is a weekly engagement calendar for 2010 that contains reproductions of 32 of Charley Harper's works. What it doesn't mention is the hardcover, spiral-bound format, and the fact that each page is printed on a heavy glossy cardstock, making it nearly a full inch thick. It is actually a much nicer product than I was expecting. It will look very nice on my desk at work.

I know the dimensions were given in the description but the size is more awkward than I had expected - not small enough to put in a purse, but not as big as a full sheet of paper. But this calendar is nice and looks more professional - spiral-bound and hardcover. There is a good amount of space for each day. One of the reasons I bought this calendar was that I wanted to frame some of the pages, but when closed, the opposing pages rub against each other and leaves hazy markings after time. I think I should have ordered the postcard calendar for use and this one for framing.
