4.0 out of 5 stars The Peter Beinart segment Good guy Charlie does it again, December 26, 2007
Beinart has just been appointed new editor of the 'New Republic.'He is twenty- eight years old but looks around fifteen and at times sounds like he is about twelve. A nice kid but is he the one to be telling us what the world is about? In any case Beinart is known as a liberal democrat security hawk. Or rather the thesis of a book of his will be that it is only the Democratic security hawks that can rightly deal with the world terror threat. Here again Charlie Rose is a gracious host. He does not patronize the kid. He talks to him as if he were actually a big experienced expert and not simply an extremely intelligent young person a bit over his head.
The interview was interesting and I now realize I should consider this aspect more in once again revealing a certain 'human relationship'. Here again it is Rose not being patronizing, sarcastic as he might have been. He helped the rookie threw the show and even played the part as if to make it seem that the rookie was really the experienced old vet.
Good guy Charlie does it again.
