I liked this book a little bit better than the first three in some ways but less in others. One thing I really liked better about this one was that it wasn't based around saving some new unknown character, and most of it took place outside of school. This was good because the first three books always seemed similar in these aspects. There were a couple of disappointments, however. You only see Benjamin once, very briefly, and the plot seemed a little pointless. But still, I'm glad I read it, and I think, if you're a fan of the series, you will too. However, if you haven't read the others, please, please read them first.

I love all the books in the "Charlie Bone" series but this is one of the best. I zoomed through this book and couldn't stop turning the pages. It was a mystery, adventure, and suspense book. I highly reccommend it for middle school kids!

Call me a sheep. I'm as big a fan as the next kid of Harry Potter on the edge of my seat awaiting each new installment. So while I'm waiting, it was good to find Jenny Nimmo's Charlie Bone and the Invisible Boy. Another boy going to another school not solely comprised of wizards, but with enough of them to make it seem so. While the series may seem clone-like, I still think it's fantastic for the slightly younger wizard in your household. They're much easier to read with simpler story lines, but still have enough pull to keep the youngster enthralled.

This is the fourth book in the series which also includes Charlie Bone and the Time Twister, Midnight for Charlie Bone, and Charlie Bone and the Invisible Boy.

Charlie Bone and the Castle of Mirrors is about Charlie helping Billy escape evil parents. It is filled with fun,mystery,magic,and more. An easy read for ages 9-12. Other books recommended if you enjoy this one are the other Charlie Bone books.

This book was very good and I enjoyed it quite a bit! Charlie Bone is a likeable character with many great friends who help him in his quests to set things right. This book was very exciting and I would recommend it to readers ages nine and older.

This story was a pretty good one. It starts out with a boy named Charlie Bone, who has an endownment, and he goes to a school where there are other people who endownments as well. They are the children of the Red King, who has long passed. They Charlie is at home for the summer, while a boy named Billy Raven sits at Bloor's academy and he hears a strange nooise, that influences him to look out the window, where he sees a horse1! soon after that it disappears. and the next day is when the children go to the academy, and learn. All the endowed children can see the horse, and they think it's ezikel bloors ancestor, the evil and oldest son of the red king!! all the sudden, the children find themselves in another suprising twist of an adventure!! you would have ot read the book to find out what happens fully!!!

Charlie Bone, whose life has NEVER been easy, gets slammed with a whole new problem in CASTLE OF MIRRORS. Old Ezekial Bloor and Charlie's aunts, the Yewbeam sisters, have managed to resurrect a ghostly horse creature that they believe has the heart of an old, fierce warrior named Borlath. They indend to use the creature against Charlie and his other endowed friends at Bloor's Academy. However, something has gone drastically wrong.

Just as with the previous Charlie Bone books, author Jenny Nimmo keeps a lot of balls in the air. A lot of possibilities and threats dangle in front of the reader as they cruise through this tale. It seems as though disaster and defeat lurk around every corner.

Charlie is still looking for his father Lyle, whom everyone believe is dead but Charlie is certain is still alive. Poor Billy Raven still hasn't been adopted, but he gets adopted in this one--by the most evil people in the world.

More of the Yewbeam family lineage is discovered, as well as what happened to many of the Red King's children. The things that bind Charlie and his friends, family ties as well as personal stakes, grow even stronger in this novel.

I read these books to my nine-year-old, who enjoys them immensely and takes the tests on the Accelerated Reader program at his school. I enjoy how easy they are to read aloud, and the degree of history that Nimmo has put in each of her novels, building on what has gone on before. The plots do tend to be somewhat repetitive, but they are Charlie Bone books. They tell a certain kind of story with certain elements that the young readers require.

The Charlie Bone books are great escapist fiction for the Harry Potter crowd while they're waiting on the final book in that series. And Charlie Bone hasn't quite progressed to the level of darkness that the Potter books have. Charlie Bone still guarantees excitement AND laughs.

I've been following the Charlie Bone epic for a while. I thought the first two were excellent. The third one was awful and just left me hanging with no questions answered. This one was at least better than the third. The story itself was interesting enough. But I thought that this book was poorly written. It was very choppy like there were big chunks that were pulled out. An example (slight spoiler):

On Charlie's first day of school, the entire day makes no sense. I thought he was having a dream because there was no sequence or explanation to it. He couldn't find his classes and then he couldnt' find his trumpet. But Nimmo never said anything about him losing his trumpet to begin with. We had no idea where he was SUPPOSED to be or who all these new teachers were. And then all of a sudden it's the end of the day and he hadn't been to one class. It didn't make sense. There were so many details missing, I really thought it was a dream sequence. Then there was the disappointing ending. I won't give too much away but we did not get the conclusion we hoped for. Billy could have had a much better solution but what they did was pretty stupid. Yes, this one was better than the invisible boy but I really think Nimmo is losing control of the story.

I finished this book in three days, reading for about 5 hours each day and my mom got mad at me for reading too long! That is how great the book is! This book was so interesting that it took me four sides of paper to write the summary! I dont really like to read, but when my school had a book fair and had "Midnight for Charlie Bone" and "Charlie Bone and the Time Twister", i just had to get it. Ever since then, I've been a huge fan! This book is definetely recommended for children from ages 8-12. I am very excited to read the next book in the series by Jenny Nimmo!

If you like mystery, if you like excitement, if you like adventure, then Charlie Bone and the Castle of Mirrors is right for you! Charlie, the main character, brings all of those to the story. Charlie Bone and the castle of Mirrors is a great book, better than you'll ever read. There are four in the series, all of them are really good, but this one -the fourth- is the best yet!

Imagine if you had the ability to look at a photograph, hear the voices of the people in it, and maybe even go into it. That's what Charlie can do. He and his friends Billy, Gabriel, Emma, and maybe one more all have the ability to do things that seem impossible.

Charlie Bone and his friends, Billy, Emma, Gabriel, Tancred, Lysander, Olivia, and Fedilio all go to Bloor's Academy. Most of them are endowed, meaning that they can do things that seem impossible, and one is soon to be. They all stick together, helping each other through hard times.

The book is about battle between good and evil, Charlie and his friends against a teacher's assistant, three old women, a beast, and a crazy old man; not very fair teams, but a pretty fair fight. The book is also about Charlie and Billy going on a quest to find Charlie's " lost" dad and to find a safe place for Billy.

Charlie Bone and the Castle of Mirrors is filled with secrets, but there is one huge one where all the facts come together. To figure out the secret you've got to read the book. Jenny Nimmo wrote this book really well. You get so many pictures in your head and you have all different kinds of emotions. In some parts you want to laugh out loud because it is such a happy part. In some parts you want to scream because it is such a scary part, and in some parts you don't really know how to feel and you just want to keep reading.

Charlie Bone and the Castle of Mirrors is a wonderful book that you never want to stop reading, and I highly recommend it.
