Clay Felker founding editor of 'New York Magazine' talks about his philsosphy of editing. He talks about New York as the world's most exciting city and creating a magazine which related to the city's ambitions .He also talks about the need for an Editor to admit his own ignorance and make use of writers who will answer the questions, who will produce the stories he wants. His basic idea is 'News is what gets off the page and into the reader's mind'. He talks about a magazine being critical and giving guidelines.
West and Lerner speak about their dialogue on improving Jewish- Black relations. They have good intentions and stress the importance of focusing on principles and personalities. However they each in their own way go off a bit. Lerner says it is only a small minority of blacks which have anti- Semitic attitudes. Unfortunately the statistics have not shown that to be true. West defends dialoguing with the vile , vicious radical Muslim Farrakhan and Lerner points out that Farrkahan tries to stir up Christian hatred against Jews. Both however recommend mutual respect, and understanding, cooperation between Blacks and Jews. It is difficult to quarrel with their good intentions.
