We bought this book for friends who are due to have a baby soon and are planning to name him Charlie. My 17 month old son saw me take it out of the box and was devestated that he could not have it. He was very attracted to the bright colors and the textures. My only complaint about this book (and the others in the series) is that the title character (in this case, Charlie Monkey) never appears in the story. He is just on the front cover. Other than that, it's a very fun book for little ones.

this book is cute, but there isn't a monkey in the book. there is a gorilla, hippo, alligator, giraffe, and a lion with buzzing fly's. my daughter loves the book when the fly's work. they don't always light up, but overall the book is cute.

My son is 9 months old and LOVES this book! It's a great book for young and old.

We bought this book after finding another Funny Faces book by Priddy on sale at our local mall. Our 11 month old daughter loves these books - the bright colors, big faces, "googly" eyes, and - of course - the fun noise at the end of each book! My 9 year old brother loves these books as well; and, I can say, as an adult, they are a pleasure to read/flip through with a child. Charlie Monkey is full of fun animals with fun textures on each page and is light on words (but the words it does have are rhyming and fun to read or listen to, similar to Dr. Seuss). Please note: These books are intended for children 3 and up, so infants should be supervised when playing with/looking at these books.

We originally received Dizzy Dragon as a shower gift for my son. It quickly became his favorite book, so we decided to order another one from the series. He loves to turn the giant board pages, and he always smiles or giggles when he gets to the last page. The words are cute but certainly no masterpiece. The pictures are simple and colorful. We do have to be careful with it now because he's pretty rough with his toys. This book is durable, but it's better left for reading together or with supervision so that it doesn't get broken. Perfect book for young ones!

I bought this book for my 2 year-old son for Christmas. He absolutely loves this book! It's everything you could want in a children's book. It has a fun rhyming story, simple and colorful illustrations, and the pages all have something you can touch. The last page has a lion surrounded by flies that buzz. This book appeals to many of the senses. The only downside to this book is that it is so large it is difficult to take places, and it sticks out on the bookshelf. Also be careful, the buzzing flies on the last page do not always work, so make sure you get a good copy!

This has been my daughters favorite book since she was 2 weeks old. At first she just stared at the eyes, then eventually she looked more at the pages. We love the big faces and bright colors. Now, at almost 7 months, she starts smiling and laughing as soon as she sees the book come out.

This is a nice large size book. It is actually kind of too big for my 10 month old to handle on her own. But she will grow into it. It definitely catches her attention. It has very cute pictures and she enjoys the sound of the buzzing flies on the last page.

As a previous reviewer noted, it does have a warning on the back that it is not for children under 3 due to choking hazard from small parts. I think it is referring to the googly eyes. I think it would be fine for a child under 3 as long as you supervise while they use it.

Overall I think this book is a good deal for the price here on Amazon.

My 2 yr old boy loves all the books in this series. (we have all but the Alien book). Even my 4 and 5 yr old daughters enjoy them. Very bright pictures. Rhymes. Lights and Sound on the last page.

My daughter received this book as a Christmas gift and LOVES it! My daughter is 4 monthes old and just loves to look at the faces. She smiles and tries to talk to the animals. I can't wait till she can actually read this. I am getting this book as a gift for my friends daughter and we will definitly be buying more books by this author.
