This review is from: Charlie Rose - An update on the Election / Dr. Richard Steadman (October 24, 2008) (DVD)
The discussions Charlie Rose has conducted on the Presidential campaign have all been informative and interesting. This one is no exception. The experts always have for me some knowledge, some insight which despite my following the stuff, I do not really have. This time Charlie has with him Jon Meacham, Joe Klein, Matt Bai, Charlie Cook. They speak as if it is all over with and Obama will be President. The turning point they all seem to agree is the financial collapse in September. This closed the last window of opportunity for McCain. They analyze the character of Obama and most are impressed with his steadiness, cool, persistence, savvy in political judgment. There are hints of regret at the kind of campaign McCain has run. The feeling is that his great winning card was his courage and independence, but that during this campaign he became more like an ordinary party politician. There are reservations expressed about Obama's character and lack of experience. On the whole the feeling given by the discussion is that the election is going to be a rout. Once again as in previous discussions there is the sense that the Media have compromised to a degree their objectivity. But this does not mean that the panel will be wrong on the result come Nov. 4.
