5.0 out of 5 stars The Pavarotti appreciation segment, December 14, 2007
This review is from: Charlie Rose - Robert Draper & Luciano Pavarotti appreciation (September 06, 2007) (DVD)
The Charlie Rose show enables the viewer to 'get to know' great people. Here at the death of the world's most famous tenor Luciano Pavarotti Charlie Rose presents an 'appreciation' which includes excerpts of previous interviews with him. Pavarotti here presents himself first and above all as dedicated artist, totally committed to providing for his audience the best performance possible. His description of his anxiety and nay- saying before the performance and total transformation once he is into it, confirms what we know about most performing artists and athletes. Pavarotti was one of those artists who could provide the truly great and moving performance, the 'sound' which so overpowers it seems to come from another world.
Once again Charlie Rose shows sensitivity, knowledge and insight in interviewing and bringing out the best in one of the giants of the generation.
