3.0 out of 5 stars The Sandy Weill segment, May 25, 2008
This review is from: Charlie Rose - Sandy Weill / Kurt Andersen (May 21; 2008) (DVD)
It was interesting learning how Sandy Weill made his spectacular career. He looks the opposite of the kind of Alpha aggressive person you would expect him to be. Plump and friendly he quietly tells Charlie Rose his story and explains his various disputes along the way , one with John Reed who was his Co- CEO ( An arrangement Weill and Rose agree never works) at Citicorp. Weill also tells about his charity work including that done in support of the Metropolitan Museum. But Charlie Rose surprised me by not asking Weill about the great fall in Citicorp Stock, or the massive problems it has had in the past year. Clearly Weill must have had something to do with Citicorp's bad business decisions. Charlie Rose also did not ask him about the whole financial crisis the U.S. seems to be going through now. In other words the interview perhaps went according to lines which Weill may have set out before. This does not make for the most interesting kind of conversation.
