4.0 out of 5 stars Jon Stewart segment, August 13, 2008
People talking about being funny are not usually very funny. This conversation centers on Jon Stewart explaining to Charlie Rose exactly what he does in his show. It also involves Stewart's providing his assessment of how the media fail to do their job in chastening politicians, a subject which is of first concern to him. Stewart seems an intelligent and well- intentioned fellow. He can be mildly self- deflating and humorous at times. But there is in this revelation of what makes him and his show tick, nothing remarkably exciting or interesting.
For his reputed wild comic brilliance one will apparently have to go to his show.(which I have never seen).
Once again however this show like so many of Charlie Rose enables me to become acquainted with 'someone' who is very well- known who I would otherwise have not had a real 'acquaintance' with.
