Okay I'll admit it, I'm biased when it comes to the 80's, I like the music from this era. In fact after listening to what stands for today's "popular music" its hard for me not to feel nostalgic about that musical time period going on 30 years now. I say all this because Charlie's self titled album (CD) was originally released in 1983. Unfortunately it didn't generate much in the way of sales and is viewed as a flop, commercially speaking even back then.
But this CD is a great listen to from start to finish. Each song is better then the last. In fact there are a couple of songs on the CD that easily could have gone on to be actual mega hits were it not for the complete lack of album promotion. Marketing or in this case, the lack thereof, doomed the group's self titled effort to obscurity. Only the groups immediate fans went out and bought the release. And herein lies the shame of it all because this release "COULD" have been a monster seller for the band had it been marketed properly. One song, the lead off track, "It's Inevitable" was made into a video for MTV and it did get a fair amount of air time. But what the band needed was radio airplay and it didn't receive any. All the songs on here are fun to listen to. My personal faves include "Spend my life with you & Never to late" but quite honestly every song on here is a winner. The songs themselves feel just like a well tailored Armani suit, they feel that good. Song lyric's are clear and easy on the ears as well as some good guitar riffs as well. But because its the 80's there are a number of requisite synthesizer plays through out. You can't really blame the band for this after all it was the 80's were talking about here and the synthesizer was a popular instrument back then. I just thought you'd appreciate the "heads up" regarding this that's all. So although the sound is dated (80's) the music contained on this CD is much better then many of the more popular, better marketed releases of this time period. If you find yourself feeling a bit nostalgic for the good old days of the 1980's and these days who doesn't, you might want to give this CD a spin. If you like what you hear you'll be pleased to know that Charlie, the band has a whole lot more for you to listen to. Please allow me to introduce you to your new favorite band that up to now you never heard of. Enjoy!

I loved this album when it came out back in the early 80's; it's still awesome. Thanks so much for having it available on CD.
