*UPDATE 10/7/12* Regarding the packaging - the dvd's are stacked on top of one another on two spindles so care must be exercised when removing them - however, the picture quality is great and they are done on 'pressed discs' - a positive feature.

I'm so glad that season five is finally seeing a release to the dvd format. CHARLIE'S ANGELS was a light-hearted detective drama that aired for five seasons and is one of the first shows to showcase women in roles traditionally reserved for men. The series centered around three female police officers (played by: Jaclyn Smith (seasons 1-5), Farrah Fawcett (season 1), Kate Jackson (seasons 1-3), Cheryl Ladd (seasons 2-5), Shelley Hack (season 4), and Tanya Roberts (season 5), whose skills were being wasted in menial duties such as filing and answering phones. A mysterious millionaire named Charles Townsend (voiced by John Forsythe) takes them away from all that by opening his own private investigation agency and hiring these gorgeous ladies as his operatives with John Bosley (David Boyle) acting as their assistant and liaison. It was great light-hearted entertainment that can be enjoyed by all ages. As most fans of the show probably already own season one through four, I have included the episode list for season five below with a brief summary.

2. TO SEE AN ANGEL - The Angels travel to the new Hawaii branch of Townsend Associates. Soon after their arrival, Kris is kidnapped.
3. ANGELS OF THE DEEP - When Julie and companion Bianca Blake find a sunken ship with a load of marijuana on board, the Angels get caught in a dispute between the ship's owners and thieves who want to steal the cargo.
4. ISLAND ANGELS - In Hawaii, the Angels get word that an assassin has been hired to kill an envoy from a peace-keeping organization who is scheduled to speak at the convention in 48 hours.
5. WAIKIKI ANGELS - Hoping for a vacation, the Angels go to Honolulu. But instead, they are called to the aid of a Congressman's son, who is attacked while honeymooning with his new wife.
6. HULU ANGELS - When Steve Moss, owner of the Tropicana nightclub is kidnapped and held for $1 million ransom, the Angels are called in to find him.
7. MOONSHININ' ANGELS - The Angels are sent to the deep south to investigate problems between two long-feuding families of bootleggers.
8. HE MARRIED AN ANGEL - The Angels are hired by two sisters to track down a con artist who swindled them out of $100,000.
9. TAXI ANGELS - When the owner of a cab company is badly burned in an explosion, the Angels go undercover to catch the culprit.
10. ANGEL ON THE LINE - The Angels hit the singles scene to solve a murder at a club where the gimmick is a phone at each table. Someone is calling girls at the club and telling them they are too attractive to live.
11. CHORUS LINE ANGELS - The Angels join a dance company to investigate the disappearance of several of the dancers.
12. STUNTWOMEN ANGELS - The Angels enroll in stunt school to stop a crazy Robin Hood who has been terrorizing the movie studios and trying to put real arrows into people.
13. ATTACK ANGELS - The Angels take jobs in the corporate world when they are hired by the president of a big company to find out who is killing off his executives.
14. ANGEL ON A ROLL - While tracking a stash of stolen one hundred dollar bills, Kris meets an electronics genius, who becomes a suspect in the case.
15. MR. GALAXY - After several strange accidents occur while Ron Gates is training for the Mr. Galaxy contest, the Angels are called in to find out who is trying to injure him.
16. LET OUR ANGEL LIVE - While tracking an embezzler, Kelly is badly wounded and taken to the hospital. Bosley and the other Angels keep a vigil for Kelly, and reminisce about her adventures with the group.

Wow, Sony has gone from an excellent dvd company to one that is really getting on my nerves, big time!!!!!!!!!This boxset is unique in that it crams the series into two spindles then gives you a piece of cardboard that is shaped like the spindle holder to cram down on top of the dvds to keep them in place, you lose that, or it bends to much , guess what, ALL the dvds will fall out!Sony makes me sick, they started out with nice slimline cases, they did a beautiful job on Bewitched and the like, even after the first two seasons of Charlie's Angels, they started to get it right, now this? Sony sold out and they lost this customer!

Update: Not even an hour since receiving boxset and it has already fallen apart, the glue that holds one set of the spindles came unglued and i noticed the other is barely hanging on,it just keeps getting worse and worse, these are so going back, was gonna keep them and just make cases for Season Five , since i already own 1-4, but not now, Sony can keep them!

I was really looking forward to adding this to my collection, especially since it was going to include the final season. The package arrived at my home today and...wow. What a disappointment. After the great job Sony did with the Season 3 and Season 4 release, I was expecting great things from this complete collection. What a let down. The discs are stacked in two spindles which anyone will tell you is a terrible way to store the DVDs. If you're going to watch these episodes a lot, going through the "stack" to find the disc you want is going to be a huge pain and it's going to be very easy for the discs to get scratched or damaged. Very disappointing. I am sending this back and sticking with my season sets and hope they will eventually do an individual release for Season 5 soon.
