Book Description

Take a stroll with Charlotte Stephens in this comedic drama set in the South. Charlotte's about to turn 30 when she wonders if her steady beau has what it takes to propose. Along comes charming vampire Stefan Babson and Charlotte's fears as a spinster are relieved with an impulse wedding on the coast.

Life as a bride seems to be going Charlotte's way until Stefan discloses one small omission: he has a rare sleeping disorder. She shrugs it off--every couple has their woes. But as more surprises begin to surface, Charlotte has to face the truth. Will she survive Stefan's secrets? Did she give up on faith too soon?

4.0 out of 5 stars Great novel showing how bad choices can pull you down September 3, 2012

I really enjoyed this book and identified with Charlotte - she had goals and had worked very hard to attain them (owning a business) but then got impatient when the "next step" (marriage!) wasn't working out exactly on her timeline. I was expecting some humorous moments, but the overall tone is rather dark. I found the book very sad as Charlotte continues to spiral downward, trying desperately to make things work with Stefan, and I was looking forward to the resolution - curious to see how the author showed forgiveness and redemption while still dealing with the results of sin. If the last chapter wasn't such an easy out, this would have been a 5 star book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down January 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Cheryl Hammer has hit the nail on the head with this one. Her story of Charlotte is a quintessential tale of young woman who desperately wants to be married. And why not? She's pushing 30, isn't she supposed to be? Charlotte reminds us what happens when we not only flirt with sin but fall in headlong. It might be enjoyable for a while, but the results can be devastating. We end up not only hiding from God, but also from the people who truly love us and are concerned with our relationship with the Father. Waiting is never easy, but taking the "easy way" or engaging in the "pleasures of sin" is always harder in the long run. This book is an easy and fun read and Ms. Hammer has a beautiful knack for letting the reader see where the characters are in the physical world as well as in the spiritual. I hope Cheryl has more stories about Charlotte up her sleeve!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and meaningful March 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Don't let the title throw you off! Like many of us, Charlotte makes that one decision that changes the course of her life. We all want a taste of love but how do we who's Mr. Right? This book has a funny way of showing us that the answers come from above.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, easy read July 22, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a great, easy read. The story kept me captivated until the very end. I never thought I'd like a book in the whole "vampire genre", but I was pleasantly surprised! I couldn't wait to finish it and find out what happened with Charlotte. Looking forward to reading more from Cheryl Hammer...

3.0 out of 5 stars To bad : ( September 2, 2012
By Sherri

I wanted so bad to give this book a 5 star & I was going to...till the last chapter. Its the worst ending a writer could ever put in a book.
If you don't care about wasting your time reading a book only to have the worst ending ever, read this book. Stefan is the funniest Vampire I've ever read. There was a great flow to the book. So much took place in around 116 pages or so, fast-paced, never a slow moment. But like I said a very very bad ending. :(

4.0 out of 5 stars Too fast, too fun March 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Because I like chicklit, I bought this ebook. Be warned, it seems to be geared for a Christian audience so that works okay for me but maybe not for everyone.

I quickly found myself caught up in the heroine's drama, which seemed crazy at first, but the more I read, the more I laughed because it's all too true how life works at times.

My only wish was that the book included more about her relationship with the boyfriend and that would have made it a 5-star rating for me.

It's a little on the short side, but makes a fast read for one sitting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't put money into this. September 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you don't mind a bit of badly written fluff this is ok. However, it reads like a high school student wrote it. In their five minute times between classes.
