Better than I expected,
By
This review is from: Charm! (Hardcover)
Truly, I wasn't expecting much with this book, but as an avid and life-long AMC fan, I bought it. I enjoyed the book more on a level of bringing myself into the AMC story, and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect great literature (and I didn't get it), but the story was cute and I'm glad to have read it.

This book was a lot of fun to read! You do not have to be an AMC fan to enjoy this book or understand the plot, however as a huge AMC fan myself I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A very clever and fun way to bring the fantasy world of All My Children into the reality world of it's viewers! As fans we watch this show every day and spend a lot of time in Pine Valley and the happenings there as well as the things going on it's character's lives, so it's been fun to own a piece of this world and feel a little more connected to the show! I was able to slip away from the cares of reality into the fun and romance of the novel and it's character's lives, and even more so, I also became part of the fantasy world of Pine Valley, All My Children and Kendall Hart! A must have for all fans!

Un Charmed!,
By Rachael N. "Rachael N." (Laurel, United States) - See all my reviews

I am a lifelong fan of All My Children. The whole cross marketing thing leaves something to be desired, though the perfume hopefully smells better than the book read! The story was OK. Not a page turner by any means, and there were a LOT of editing errors! That annoyed me! There was also a lot of use of the "F" word, and no I don't mean FUSION. It left a bad taste in my mouth, and I won't read it again. But as a fan of the show I certainly could see the book was based on the character who supposedly wrote it.

This book has got to be the most boring book I have ever read in my life. Put it this way, I have posted an ad on craiglist list, virtually giving the book away, and no one has responded. That most tell you something?

Disappointed,
By Nancy "Nancy" (Tennessee) - See all my reviews

This book must have been written by an eighth grader. How many times did she mention his "minty soap"? And the spelling and grammatical errors were atrocious. The storyline, however, was good and had a lot of potential, but failed to deliver.

romantic,
This review is from: Charm! (Hardcover)
I just got through reading the book "CHARM". It was so good and romantic. I know how Avery's birth mother felt when she had the baby and gave her up for adoption.I went through the same ordeal. I was 19 and gave my baby up for adoption. It was the right thing to do at the time. Today my son has contacted me and his dad. We are getting along good.He understands why I did what I had to do. At the time he was born, his birth dad was married and 3 daughters. The book was remarkable and I hope that she will continue to write some more.

Entertaining and fast-paced fun,
By Kim D. (Sunny Florida) - See all my reviews

This novel is an interesting concept. A fictional character writing fiction. I think it's kind of like that exponential population growth or maybe six degrees of Kevin Bacon kind of thing. It hurts your head to think about it too much. But the book was fun and entertaining and I read it in a day. I recommend it for anyone who wants a fun, fast-paced fantasy. I don't watch All My Children or wear perfume (too many allergy sufferers) and still I couldn't put it down. Until I finished it. And then I kept looking at the cover. I love the perfume bottle with the dangling moon charm. And the girl on the cover's eyebrows are just plucked to perfection!

I was very excited to get this book, but was a little let down when I read it. I love the show All My Children, but the book wasn't what I expected. I have read others that are much better. It was ok. The biggest thing about the book is all the mistakes in it. I think they should have proof read it better because there were sooooo many mistakes in the words. I sent an email to the abc network about it but of course did not get a repy. If you are paying money out for their book the wording should be correct. Thanks, Deb

I gave this as well as the One Life to Live trivia book to a good friend of mine for her birthday as we are/were both die hard All my Children and One Life to Live fans. Her birthday was within days of the final viewing date of OLTL so it was just perfect! She is enjoying them and promises to share them w/ me when she's finished! Which is delightful!
