5.0 out of 5 stars It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This, October 11, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Charm of Old Vienna (Audio CD)
This album was orignally released at least 30 years ago and it was called "Lollipops Aus Wein" at the time. The other two albums, which have retained their names, are "Bonbons Aus Wein" and "Creampuffs from Vienna." This album is listed as Volume 2, but don't look for "Charm of Old Vienna, Volume 1", as it doesn't exist. The "Bonbons" album is Volume 1 and the "Creampuffs" albums is Volume 3. A little confusing. Anyway, I highly recommend all three of these albums as they are delightful and very easy to listen to. Mine have been played over and over again. This is rich, melodious music that stands the test of time. Any classical music fan who likes Viennese music will absolutely love these albums. These were recordings that Boskovsky himself was especially fond of and was looking forward to their appearance on compact disk. Unfortunately he died in 1991 while these were in preparation for release on CD. I don't think there is any better tribute to this superb violinist. These recordings never disappoint and can be listened to over and over again. Highly recommended.
