Editorial Reviews

This follow-up collection of "music from and inspired by" the WB network's successful teen witch-with-a-family-twist series offers up a compelling, distaff spin on the first volume's contemporary mix of pop and rock, gathering together 11 all-female tracks, an eclectic mix that spans the diversity of The Donnas' rousing rock opener "Take It Off" and a beat-savvy remix of Broadway-cum-Vegas diva Sarah Brightman's "Free." Its other disparate, yet inviting corners feature signature performances from alt.divas Liz Phair (the gritty "Take A Look" from her eponymous fourth album), Vanessa Carlton and Aussie newcomer Missy Higgins, a shimmering remix of Sarah McLachlan's emotive classic "Fallen," Shivaree's spooky "I Close My Eyes" and the deliciously haunting "House" by Zero 7—though teen-pop lip-sync queen Ashlee Simpson's sugary "Pieces of Me" can't rise above its slinky David Garcia and High Spies remix. --Jerry McCulley

5.0 out of 5 stars Charmed Part 2 April 20, 2005
By Tyler
Format:Audio CD
The first charmed soundtrack had its fair share of ups and downs and so does this new one but the majority of the songs are very good. If you enjoyed or didn't enjoy the first album you should still give this a shot because it has a different formula: female only singersnand includes remixes. Also included on the disc was a weblink to a exclusive charmed web site that has information on the cast and the bands featured on the album. Top tracks: liz phair, the donnas, and dido.

4.0 out of 5 stars For: hockeygirl537 "Kristina" August 2, 2006
Format:Audio CD
The Charmed theme song is a Smith's song named "How Soon is Now?" from their album "Meat is Murder". However, it is sung here by Richard Butler from Love Spit Love (formerly of the Psychedelic furs). You can find their two albums here on Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charmed - The Book Of Shadows CD -- SO AWESOME June 27, 2005
By allie
Format:Audio CD
This cd has some very eclectic talents of music and I really enjoyed listening to it. I found it so cool because I watch every episode so I recall the episodes in which I heard some of the songs. I really love the Cd and think that it is the best TV soundtrack out right now. Of course my favorite song is FALLEN by Sarah M.. it is the best mix of the song. I feel that song has been the soundtrack to my life this past year "as I have fallen" and find this soundtrack the pages of my life.

"The Book of Shadows" is filled with nothing but "Cool" music. The Donnas kick off the cd, followed by Liz Phair and the sexy sounds of Dido. Sarah McLachlan, Ashlee Simpson and other women make this soundtrack a powerful feminine statement.

Every song captures the spirit of Charmed and throws the listener into a very mysterious, witchy mood. This cd is worthy of listening to over and over again!

4.0 out of 5 stars So and so August 2, 2005
Format:Audio CD
This is an OK album. I dunno why they had to put Ashlee Simpson on it. It ruined the whole experience for me. Vanessa Carlton is the one to save the day and who convinced me that the album deserves 4 stars.
