Before I even start on my review, let me ask you this. What have you been eating that you need ultra strong toilet paper to wipe your butt? When strong or extra strong won't do, you need ultra strong? Shouldn't you be examining your diet first?

Having said that, this TP is indeed ultra strong. I've been using Charmin ultra soft for years, but decided to try this on a whim. And it is what it's advertised to be. Guaranteed, no matter what you've been eating, this will wipe your butt cleanly and without breaking. Grandma's extra thick chili? A case of Montezuma's revenge? E. coli, gastroenteritis? That stuff will go through regular TP like a hot knife through butter and nothing will spoil your day more than fingers which have touched poo, even your own.

But Charmin Ultra Strong? Nothing's going break through this baby. Yup, this baby can handle anything. I've tried and so far, this TP has never broken through, no matter how hard I've wiped, and boy have I tried. It is indeedy the toughest TP I've ever used.

It is however, rather rough. So if you've had a tough day, had a tough meal, have a tough sphincter that can handle tough, and you want a toilet paper that's guaranteed not to break through, this is it. I've sacrificed a few layers of sphincter cells for this review, but yup, this toilet paper is indeed ultra strong. 5 stars.

Notes:
This is 18 big rolls and it's good for people who live in the city and don't want to lug a lot of TP back home on public transport or just don't want to carry a bulky stuff. The 18 rolls should last a single person a long time before needing to order again.

The current price is really competitive and it's just under the limit for free shipping so if you get two packs of this or get something else cheap you can get free shipping. It's almost 50% off their regular price, what a deal. (Price update: looks like the price is higher now and no longer almost 50% off. I've found that sometimes prices will fluctuate so it might be a good idea to check every so often for price deals.)

And for those who find this hard to flush (especially with low flow toilets), there are two ways to deal with this.

After pooing and wiping, just hold the TP in your hand and flush (with your other hand). After your poo has swirled down, throw in the TP at the tail end of the flush. The TP will still go through. It will take a little bit of practice to get your timing right but it works for me. This works well not just for this TP but for people who poo big stinkers. It will require you to look at your poo but that's no hardship. It's a quirk of human nature that you can look at your own poo all day long but other people's poo is disgusting despite the fact that poo is poo and your poo isn't any better than anyone else's.

The second way is to flush twice. I know that's more usage of water, but it's better than having a clogged toilet. This means either:
a) Flushing your poo and TP separately.
b) Flushing halfway through your session. For those who poo really big ones this is the only way to flush no matter what TP you use - it'll take some practice to know exactly when halfway is, it's usually the time when your session changes from a life and death situation to a leisurely experience.

I bought this because I was running low on the stuff, too lazy to stop by the supermarket and have a prime membership (free 2 day shipping, yay!) What was surprising and that I somehow missed in the description was that you get 18 HUGE rolls of paper. I won't be running low for quite a while. I also got this for what I guess was new item pricing. So I ended up paying quite a bit less than a dollar per roll. Awesome deal!

As for the product...it's toilet paper. What can I say about it? It works. It's not the super soft that used to be equated with Charmin, but it's not sandpaper either. A tad bit "rougher" than my preferred Cottonelle, but not as hard as Scott which my parents prefer.

All in all, I'd order again at the same price.

I've been noticing that that the paper doesn't like the "normal" flush. I live in an apartment so I don't have a toilet tank. I have one of those industrial-like toilets that is all pipes and bowl. Anyway, I find anything more than a couple of sheets and I have to flush 2 or 3 times or flush and hold to get the paper to go down. A problem I've never had before.

I guess that's the drawback of a bathroom tissue strong enough to be paper towels.

Can't say what it might be doing to a household system, especially an older or septic tank-based one. Anyway, something you may want to consider before buying.

I live in a household of females, and we go through a lot of toilet paper. Charmin Ultra Strong is unquestionably the best we have ever used. A close second is the Charmin Ultra Soft, followed by Costco's Kirkland house brand.

First, you can ignore Charmin's claim of DiamondWeave and so on about using 4X less. That is just marketing fluff. What this is is a good quality toilet paper like that made a decade or two ago before companies started cheapening everything out in order to boost their profits.

What I really like about Charmin Ultra Strong is that it is both soft and strong. While Ultra Soft is softer, it tears apart more easily. Also, the texture is more soft due to what I would call being "flocked". The problem with that is it creates a lot of dust and anything that is damp or wet (well just about everything you'd use this on) gets flocked as well, which you sometimes have to wash, or you'll get little lint balls stuck on yourself. So, in that regard, Ultra Strong is better. It is soft enough and softer than most, including Costco's. To me, it is important to be strong to wipe up odd goop in the bathroom, blow your nose in a pinch, etc. The last thing I like is "finger through", so this is a great TP.

When you buy Charmin Ultra Strong (or Ultra Soft), the prices vary wildly as do the sizes and packages which aids in confusion if you are a smart shopper. The various roll sizes are below:

* Regular Roll = 1X
* Large Roll = 1.5X
* Big Roll = 2X
* Giant Roll = 2.5X
* Mega Roll = 4X

What the X means is just that times as many sheets. So, a case of Mega Roll has twice as many sheets as a case of Big Roll. A minor nit with the Mega Roll is that it is quite a large diameter and rubs a bit in the our holders until it is used up a bit. So for us, the Roll Fit Guarantee is a bit bogus. The advantage is less roll changes. I would go with whatever size works out cheaper and/or is on sale.

I have been buying this TP now for many years and have found it the best at holding together and not leaving little wads in the behind. There's nothing worse than not being able to clean yourself completely or using something that tears so you wind up with your fingers where they shouldn't be. The Mega Rolls fit on the dispenser just fine and last a good long time. Unfortunately, the Mega Rolls are hit and miss to be in stock at your local store, so the Amazon subscription sounds very attractive, especially at this price that includes shipping. Now I just have to figure out how long it will take to go through 4 12-packs.

Actually I'm writing about the amazing savings and convenience. It costs less than club store prices and is delivered to your door. In addition you get an extra discount for signing on for regular deliveries. We haven't had it so good since milk came in a bottle and was left on the porch.

The product is great, price is great, service is great. Actually I'm wondering how they do it.

BY THE WAY. To clear something up. I bought my stuff from Amazon not the company listed above. Amazon was a much better deal--I don't know for sure how I got this other outfit.

Seriously I can't believe I am reviewing a toilet paper but the things I do for Amazon....Well, I do like Charmin and I like even more that I get to buy it at Amazon instead of running to Target for it. This is one of the nicest qualities of toilet paper and I won't switch unless you give me a good reason. :)!

I am very happy with this product. I bought it on subscribe at a good price delivered right to my home. It is exactly what I wanted. It comes all packaged in one large box which is easy to handle. Highly recommended. It works good. It is strong.

this is a good product, although I do favor a competitor, even more. on this product, I sugjest: shop the local store. I have found a better price at my local Walmart. also a better price at a local store called super saver. sometimes I can find this cheaper at Dollar Tree, and Dollar General. if I am going that way for other things, too, then it pays to shop around for papper products.

It doesn't get any softer than this, and the paper is very strong. The downside is it sticks into clumps that can easily clog your toilet and/or plumbing if you have a system that is at all sensitive to this.

I'm very happy with Charmin Ultra Strong. I love the convenience of having it delivered to my home. It's very soft and strong. The mega size fits the regular toilet paper holder so you don't have to buy an extension.
