5.0 out of 5 stars super investigative historical romantic fantasy

1.0 out of 5 stars not correctly categorized should be paranormal not historical
Normally, I do not write a review, however in this case I am making an exception. As a woman that reads many many books I object to this book! I object to categorization of historical romance. In my own humble view in should of been paranormal romance and even then a confused one. I like this author however I think in this instance she let me down and let her readers...

5.0 out of 5 stars super investigative historical romantic fantasy, January 30, 2010
This review is from: Charming the Devil (Mass Market Paperback)
In 1813 whenever the women of Lavender House meet, the rest of the Ton assumes nasty gossip is flying between them. The aristocracy is ignorant about this group of ladies, who are a select few belonging to the Lavender House white witch coven keeping evil from harming England.

Although not nearly as bold as her coven sisterhood members are, Faye feels the time for her to join the war against evil is now. She is assigned to go undercover amidst the gaiety of the Ton in London to determine who killed Lord Brendier. The prime suspect is Rogan so when Faye ends up in his arms, she ignores how lovely that feels as she insists to herself she is doing her femme fatale job. Having been burned by a woman before, Rogan normally stays far away from the Ton's beauties, but he cannot ignore Faye's bewitching attraction especially when he perceives the danger she is in from an unknown enemy.

Readers will appreciate the latest Lavender House investigative historical romantic fantasy (see Seduced by Your Spell and Under Your Spell) due to a strong atmosphere of enchantment that feels real enhanced by the lead couple. Whereas Rogan is brave and bold, Faye is timid and shy. Together they make a powerful duet who, with some terrific whodunit plot twists, spellbinds the audience.

1.0 out of 5 stars not correctly categorized should be paranormal not historical, February 5, 2010
This review is from: Charming the Devil (Mass Market Paperback)
Normally, I do not write a review, however in this case I am making an exception. As a woman that reads many many books I object to this book! I object to categorization of historical romance. In my own humble view in should of been paranormal romance and even then a confused one. I like this author however I think in this instance she let me down and let her readers down. I found it hard to follow and hard to read and keep my mind on the plot. I was looking forward to a wonderful romance like I have read from her before and was very disappointed in this book. The plot is weak in some areas, the story is not what you would think when deciding to buy a historical romance and all in all the book was a very large disappointment. Again to be fair perhaps it was just because it was not an expected historical romance that I am objecting so strongly. However, I would be interested to see if there are any other opinions on this book. IN my own case, I normally collect all my authors books in this case, I will toss this one and count it as a loss of money and my time.
