Charter cable I have been using a Charter supplied modem which it seems to have gotten hit during a quick lightning strike, rendering the ethernet port useless. Is this modem compatible with Charter cable? How well does the ethernet port work since I also use a wireless modem.

Yes. I had Charter before and used this modem. But Charter is now requiring a DOCSIS V3 modem and this is a V2 modem. Good thing though is Charter is providing the new modem for free to new customers.

Charter WANTS you to upgrade to DOCSIS.3, but I can verify that this modem works just fine on our Charter system. I'm using it right now. Speed and reliability are excellent, with a WiFi router attached this modem serves our entire household. If it ain't broke...
