"Chase Complete" more than lives up to its title; it is a comprehensive reference for the Chase collector and for anyone interested in the consumer products manufactured by Chase Brass in the 1930's and early 1940's. It is a meticulously researched book, richly illustrated by professional photographs of almost uniformly top quality examples. It is well written with wit and humor. No self-serving author-collector rhetoric here. Five stars for sure!

As a collector of Art Deco, I really enjoyed this book. Very good photogaphy and very well written. The author did a lot of homework in preparing this. A great book for Art Deco collectors.

We had the pleasure of working just a little bit with the author, Donald Johnson, and author/photographer, Leslie Pina, on this book. Countless hours of work on their part show in the beautiful photos and creative writing in this book. This is the most comprehensive guide to Chase that has ever been put together for all Chase collecors, from novice to advanced. Well done!! This is a marvelously written book. As an Antique Dealer, I am extemely pleased with the work and research that the author has put into it.He is to be commended highly. Wonderful photographs. Hope the author writes more books on other subjects. He has a good command of what collectors need to know about the subject. Cannot thank the author enough for putting together such an informative and interesting book.

EXCELLANT! THE most comprehensive and thoroughly researched book on the Chase Brass & Copper Company available. Wonderful information on the history of the company and the industrial designers responsible for the innovative & modern designs. Also included are reproductions of original Chase sales brochures and the retail sales sites. High quality photography along with detailed identifications make this book extremely helpful to collectors. Looking forward to seeing the follow up book on Chase lamps.

As a Chase collector, my hat's off to authors Donald-Brian Johnson and Leslie Pina. This book is not only comprehensive, but the photos are outstanding. Leslie Pina (photography) has done another superb job of bringing inanimate objects to life... they literally jump right off the pages! And, just like in his prior book "Higgins Adventures In Glass", Donald-Brian Johnson (text) has made learning about Chase a rewarding and fascinating experience. Mr. Johnson's writing style holds your interest as it informs. I was also gratified to read in the introduction that another book by Johnson and Pina devoted entirely to Chase lamps is coming soon. At last, collectors will have access to two comprehensive and informative Chase resources. If you're a Chase collector, or just interested in learning more about the Chase Brass & Copper Company and its deco specialties, I highly recommend Chase Complete!

By the title, and the rave reviews, I expected, well, a COMPLETE look at the work of Chase.

Yes, the book is gorgeous, full of information, and with nice images, but there are but one or two images of lamps, none of wall sconces, and none of ceiling fixtures and chandeliers.

Chase did gorgeous lamps, sconces, and chandeliers. Gorgeous! Why omit them? Why?

VERY exasperating!

The concept behind this book was badly needed. Chase has become a a hot collectible but few people know much about it. For those who don't, this book should shed a lot of light on the subject. Most of the pictures(taken by individual collectors)is good. However, the text is poorly written-too informal(we're not talking beanie babies here) and exclamation points are thrown all over the place.The overview on the Art Deco movement is weak. There is not much information here one would not find in previous books on Chase-books written far better. Incidently, there is no information here on Chase lamps.
