5.0 out of 5 stars My Great Grandfather is Dave Chasen!, July 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Chasen's Where Hollywood Dined: Recipes and Memories (Hardcover)
Dave Chasen, the founder of the famous Chasen's restaurant, who invented the Shirley Temple drink (Sprite mixed with grenadine) is also my great grandpa! This book shows photos of the restaurant and gives great recipes to his famous foods. This is a must for chili-lovers (the recipe for his world famous chili is in there!)

This review is from: Chasen's Where Hollywood Dined: Recipes and Memories (Hardcover)
As a big fan of "old Hollywood" and the classic glamour that I think is sadly missing from the industry today, I found this book to be a real treat. The stories and the photographs are wonderful, but it's clear how much food tastes have changed over the years. The only recipes that I would probably make are the ones for the famous chili and the chicken pot pie, but overall, it is a great read.
