I found this book to be a good beginner's guide for adventure riding/racing. The book isn't the end all "how to" manual of the entire Dakar rally but gives a really good overview on many important topics, and adventure riding in general. Lots of pictures and easy to read. Unlike the previous reviewer my book was not missing any paragraphs or words.

The book has great photos of Dakar riders and the Dakar rally itself. It is written by the team doctor with help from the KTM Red Bull North American team members. I found the photos and insider information very interesting and informative. There is very good information on training, preparation and adventure riding "how to's". I found information and photos that simply are not published in any other book. Unlike the first reviewer with the 1 star, I throughly enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone interested in the Dakar Rally, toughest motorized race on the planet!

This book is a complete waste of money. Go over the the Adventure Riders on the web and you will learn more about the Dakar Rally. I warned you!

This book is full of info you simply will not find anyplace else... but serves a fairly specialized audience. If you are interested in preparing for, or simply knowing what it takes, to race in an endurance road book motorcycle rally, this is it! A steal at $20.

This book provides a good introduction into adventure and rally riding. It covers everything from riding techniques to physical training. This book is not a comprehensive guide to riding. Rather it is a good strarting point for people interested in adventure riding or rally riding.

Unfortunately this book does not reach expectations as it is very badly edited. It gets very frustrating after a while because there are many words and paragraphs missing. This makes it very difficult to get into the book. So overall, a very disappointing Christmas present!
