Sister Hazel "All For You" Live

Biography

It should come as no surprise that one of rock's most democratic bands would
come up with a most democratic album. For Release (Aug. 18, 2009, Rock Ridge
Music), their seventh disc of original material, Sister Hazel
(vocalist/guitarist Ken Block, guitarist/vocalist Drew Copeland, lead
guitarist Ryan Newell, bassist Jett Beres and drummer Mark Trojanowski)
decided to have each band member contribute a… Read more in Amazon's Sister Hazel Store

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent CD by an excellent band, December 8, 2003
This review is from: Chasing Daylight (Audio CD)
Sister Hazel is a band whose music is a unique mix of rock, pop, country, and bluegrass that is simply irresistable. The stands out due to its four-yes four- guitarists and the unique metallic voice of lead singer Ken Block.

Chasing Daylight continues the band's streak of excellent albums. Beginning with the wonderful "Your Mistake" and ending with the equally great "Can't Believe," this is a CD without a weak point. Other highlights include "Come Around" and "Best I'll Ever Be."

Like many bands, Sister Hazel is not for everyone. The group prefers arena rock style jams to slower more understated numbers, which they can also do.

Don't let the Amazon.com review fool you, this is not a band that has lost its "vitality."

5.0 out of 5 stars Chasing Daylight (CD) Customer Delight, April 11, 2003

Tune into your local radio station and catch the new Sister Hazel hit from Chasing Daylight called "Your Mistake" "...I wanna be good I wanna be great, I wanna be everything except for your mistake..." It's powerful yet gentle with overflowing passion. Wait, you have not hear anything yet!!! "Life Got In The Way" will be sure to find it's way to the radio waves soon, as well.

Most cd's these days are made with a lot of fluff and little good music. Well that is just not the case here! As with their big hits "All For You" and "Change Your Mind" from previous cd's, CHASING DAYLIGHT is one of those addictive cd's that you won't be able to get enough of. From beginning to end; you will find beautiful harmonies (Can't Believe), jaw-dropping guitar licks (Swan Dive), infectious drumming (Killing Me Too), fun pick-me-up tunes (Everybody), passion (One Love and Life Got In The Way), tear-jerkers (Best I'll Ever Be) just to name a few.

One of my favorite things about Chasing Daylight is that you will love it no matter if your age is 7 or 70 or any age in between.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sister Hazel can still do it, and do it well, February 9, 2003

This review is from: Chasing Daylight (Audio CD)
I have no idea why, but I've always liked the music that Sister Hazel made but I never bought an album. But going through a phase of bands like Dishwalla I decided to check out their new one, and I am so glad that I did. This CD is one to remember for sure. I have seen a decline in "happy" music, and this CD attempts to bring happy music back to its proper place among the angry amatuers. Chasing Daylight is full of extremely upbeat and lyrically potent songs, such as the single "Your Mistake" which proudly proclaims "I wanna be good, I wanna be great, I wanna be everything except for your mistake." But this disc isn't simply radio friendly pop rock. Songs like "Killing Me Too" or "Best I'll Ever Be" are brutally beautiful slower songs, but never lose the Sister Hazel twang. Basically, if you are a fan of Sister Hazel in any way at all you shouldn't find nothing to dislike about this album. All the songs are very high quality, well written, catchy, and well produced. Don't pass this one up, it is a great CD.
