4.0 out of 5 stars Soundtrack, Good - Movie, Mas o Minus, April 20, 2003
This review is from: Chasing Papi (Audio CD)
Let me start by saying, the movie had a lot of eye candy (for men & women) but the only thing holding it together was the soundtrack. From the many kicking tropical songs like Favorite Fantasy by Jon Secada and La Negra Tiene Tumbao by Celia Cruz to the cooler, softer beats of Llevame Contigo by Carlos Ponce, this album keeps you moving. Probably a better workout album than soundtrack, most every track is upbeat and full of life. The soundtrack has a very Miami feel, so much so, that the movie should have been set in Miami. It would just make more sense. In closing, if you want bangin' latin beats, buy this album. If you want to see hot latin actors and actresses, go see the movie, but you will catch yourself paying more attention to the music that Sofia or Roselynn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Sountrack, Jose Feliciano in english!, February 2, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Chasing Papi (Audio CD)
Very nice soundtrack of the movie, You can play all the Cd many times in a Party and all songs are well works, especially the Jon Secada "Favorite Fantasy", the Jaci Velazques "I don't need a Man" and other with a latin beat mixed in english and spanish. But in this CD deserve a mention the Jose Feliciano tune "Romeo": after many years this is the way to ear Jose sung in english again how was famous in all world in 60s and 70s and in his concerts, a great surprise, Jose make this song great, rythm, vocal, arrangements with differents tempos and however his incredible guitar: in all is a "only-Jose-can-do" how many musicians on those years was judge his songs. At last, this cd is good, this song value the price and and hope Emilio Estefan (the producer) will release a entire english album for Feliciano in the way of this song

4.0 out of 5 stars Dance the Night Away!, January 2, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Chasing Papi (Audio CD)
This soundtrack is terrific! I love it because I can dance to the uptempo beats and rhythms of the songs. I even have a hard time not grooving to the few ballads on the CD and it gives the movie, "Chasing Papi" a strong pace to follow. Emilio Estefan Jr. was the executive music producer for the album. All of the songs are good, but my super favorites are Celos-Marc Anthony, La Negra Tiene Tumbao sang by Salsa Queen Celia Cruz, Dejare-Christina Vidal, Romeo-Jose Feliciano, and Taca Taca-Gaitanes.
