5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Beautiful
The lyrics of this song is simple, not with some highfalutin words that are hard to understand by most people. However, it is in the simplicity of the lyrics and the tune that makes me ponder and wonder the beauty of it! No matter how many times I played this song, I never get tired of listening to it. 3.0 out of 5 stars Chasing Norah
It has honestly been awhile since Norah Jones came out with a really good song. Well, after bringing in the intimacy of Midnight Soul / Jazz fusion with her songs from hits like Come Away With Me, Don't Know Why, and her 2007 hit Thinking About You, she decided to try to do something a bit more mainstream to the pop audience. Well, it has a bit of mixed baggage with her...

A little different than the songs on her previous CDs, but this is a catchy tune and fun song. Current fans of Norah Jones will like the song and it may gain her some new fans as well.

What more can I say? I love this tune. It's light, it's fun, it rocks and it shows Norah's understated Billy Holiday influence at its best.

What always impresses me about Norah Jones, especially after listening to other good pop singers, is that she's such a master of vocal phrasing, and getting better with each record. Like Holiday, it's more like what you would expect from a be-bop alto sax player than a vocalist. Sometimes I find myself counting the time just to be sure she didn't slip an extra couple of quarter notes into the measure.

I'd like to know what "chasing pirates" means though.

Well, it has a bit of mixed baggage with her latest single, Chasing Pirates, from her upcoming album, The Fall. The song isn't really a bad song, but just isn't really the best that she has brought out from before that we've already loved from Norah. I do honestly hope her album does much better, but honestly this wasn't her best song. Hopefully, for Noarh, we'll be chasing her when the next best Midnight song does come alive.
