A must read for any fan of the Ghost Adventures show, or just into the paranormal stuff.
Enjoyed reading how they get along on those long road trips, and more about the places they have visited that don't make it to the show. It was great to get that behind-the-scenes view of what his life has been like from such an early age, to getting into film, meeting the guys, to where he is now.
I also enjoyed reading about how his early life experiences directed him to his life's path. It seems to me that his wonderful parents and the youthful meeting of the love of his life contributed greatly to his driving ambition and success against all odds. No one achieves great success without the love, encouragement and help from others along the way.
The detailed and funny life adventures the GAC encounters before during and after their lockdowns enhanced the book as well. I was so happy to see that he featured his favorite investigations with details from behind the scenes as well as his personal observations. The questions and answers about the paranormal and the show are also very informative. I appreciated the listing and explanations of all the unique and innovative equipment they use in their investigations.
I had no idea that Nick actually edited and executive produced the show from the very beginning. I am impressed with the skill and knowledge he has acquired through hard work and blood sweat and tears. That is why this show is so successful. It was his vision from the very beginning and the love and care he puts into each and every show is apparent. That's what makes you want to watch each episode over and over again.
Nick-You did a great job on this book.Read more ›
This was a great book about the paranormal, but it was also an inspiring book about filmmaking in general. Groff has an energy, enthusiasm and positivity that reminds me a lot of Robert Rodriguez in "Rebel Without a Crew". To be honest, I was kind of in a bummed-out mood before I read this book, but it gave me a fresh burst of energy seeing how much of a 'doer' Groff is. I mean, previous to reading this book, I had no idea that Groff did most of the editing of GHOST ADVENTURES himself. For some reason I pictured a team of editors working on the shows, but the fact that each episode was like they were making one Indie film after another really elevated my respect for these guys to an even higher level.
But, yes, seeing how prolific this dude is just made me want to get out there and start doing, doing, doing even more...not that I've been that much of a slacker, but still. Like Groff used to be, I am currently a wedding videographer myself and he helped me understand why doing so many wedding videos was actually helpful to my filmmaking craft (I've been trying to justify the work lately). If you're first starting out in the field of filmmaking, you just have to film and edit whatever. Even if it's not CITIZEN KANE it's still going to help you grow and shape your craft.
Not to self-promote, but check out my website [...] to see my own short paranormal 30min documentary entitled "A Parallel World", about a haunted house on Cape Cod that my aunt and Uncle were renting one winter.Read more ›

wasn't the best for me. Just seemed like Nick was wanting to talk more about himself than about the cases he worked on. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Sirius Reviewer
