Book Description

Based off the popular blog, author Stefanie Williams has no shame when it comes to reliving her most infamous and sordid experiences with athletes ranging from NCAA all-stars to Hockey Night in Canada headliners. A hilarious combination of sex, sports, and self-depricating humor gives readers an inside look at the life of a not-so-typical jersey chaser and the motivations behind all of her athlete adventures.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed September 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was excited to read this book because I loved Rosa Blasi's, "Jock Itch" so much I thought this might be similar. Much to my dismay I was very dissapointed with this book. Stefanie Williams comes off irratatingly vein and just basically like a complete "floozie", even though I know she's not trying to be reveled as Mother Theresa, it's still challenging to like her.
Unlike Jock Itch, this book had no real story line or plot, life lesson, anything. It's just scattered, random accounts, of a 20 year old college students sexcapades. Her stories aren't really funny and normally, I love these candid, tongue in cheek books...*YAWN*

1.0 out of 5 stars Read her blog for free instead. April 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
The author has a natural and funny writing style, but has nothing to say.

She likes having sex with athletes. Awesome.

News Flash: 20-30 year old women love to have sex, particularly with attractive men that have a degree of social standing.

For this particular woman, participation on a sports team is the height of status or power. Were this woman actually interesting in ANY way, or somehow special among the millions of women just like her cruising for good lays, that might be interesting.

But she's not special, and does nothing to make the reader care about her or her opinion throughout the entire book.

If you're looking for something trashy to laugh at on a plane ride or a beach.... no, you can still find better for 2.99.

Read her blog for free instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars this book is the "anti-woman" bible April 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I am an extreme proponent of sexual experimentation and indulgence, so I was excited to read about the author's so-called "athletic adventures." Unfortunately, what I found was a woman so bent on proving herself to the world that she feeds into the chauvinistic anti-feminist system of subjection and subordination.
I don't understand how any self-assured, educated woman could choose to prostitute herself for fame and renown--and to then write about it for the world to see. Stefanie, where is your pride??

I only hope that young women everywhere have enough sense and confidence to avoid "adventures" such as this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Trash April 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
What can I say about this book? It is certainly not your average book, but was definitely written by your typical bar-dancing harlet. The diligence with which the author sought out these seemingly unknown "athletes" seems embarrassing and does not make for a good read. I don't know what I was expecting when I bought this book, but I can say that the fact it is self-published and only $2.99 gives credence to the worth of this book. Don't buy it unless you want a "how-to" guide on chasing d-list athletes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read! April 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Meant to be read with a sense of humor, Chasing the Jersey does not disappoint!! The writing is candid and witty, and no matter what your personal preference is as far as how you like to conduct your dating/sex life, the material is relatable and anyone with a sense of humor will definitely chuckle. I found this to be a great read - the pages flew by and I really enjoyed Stefanie's very real, conversational approach. I definitely recommend this book!! Can't wait to see what Stefanie has in store for us next!

More About the Author

There was a point in my life where I would basically copy and paste my resume in the "about the author" section of my queries and proposals and hope that publishers would be impressed with the fact that I interned at NBC and worked at my school paper. Instead, I'd like to just start this section by saying I've had a lot of sex in my life. And in that sense, this kind of makes me an expert in this whole conversation. I've had a lot of sex. With athletes. With random guys who aren't athletes. With good looking guys. With ugly guys. Drunk. Sober. In different positions. Yeah, I've had a lot of effing sex. Some would call me a slut. I call myself well versed in my topic of literary interest. I mean, tomato, to-mah-to. And the book is much better because of that fact. The shit I do for my craft is unbelievable.

I love writing about what I know. I think my voice is the best part of my writing, because I like to believe being relatable while telling a story keeps an audience interested. I like my readers to be able to connect with me on all levels.

Aside from that little note, I'm a graduate of the University of Maryland with my BA in English Language and Literature. As a student, I rarely went to class and once passed a final because my teacher stapled the answer key to the back of my test, but I was also an editor and columnist at the independent student-run newspaper The Diamondback. My most famous article, based on the Duke Lacrosse Rape Hoax, received more site views than any other story published online for The Diamondback my junior year, and was later published in the book Until Proven Innocent. Many of my columns were syndicated by online blogs and news sources, and thanks to my notoriety in the lacrosse community, I received a wide audience for my two years at the paper. And I'm sure said audience will be thrilled when they find out I wrote a book about having sex with the guys they try to paint as perfect princes.

I'm the owner and creator of the blog Chasing the Jersey, and since its creation I've been interviewed by both Fox Network and CNN about its content. I've had two online articles for two separate websites that have gone viral, and have been offered a weekly column by the website Sportsgrid.com. For those of you who are curious, Tucker Max hates me and once told me to get an effing therapist. I feel like it's important to throw that in here.
